BennyAndTheJets 0 Posted May 1, 2006 Just curious. I had heard alot about Kellen Clemens prior to the Jets picking him. Everything I heard was really positive and I'm a fan of the pick. I guess my question is...by Mangini and Co. picking Clemens with their second round pick are they basically saying he is our QB of the future, or was this more of a depth move? For instance Leinart, Young, and Cutler are considered the franchise qb's for their new teams, and the starting job is theirs to inherit. Is this the case with Clemens also? It probably sounds like a stupid question, but I've only just gotten into watching the draft and stuff the last couple years. I just figured by Mangini passing on Leinart and obviously going after this guy, to me he's saying this is going to be our guy. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. Savage Beast 1 Posted May 1, 2006 Cosindering the other pathetic QB's on the Jets roster, Clemens is problably the Jets best QB.
Orgazmo 2 Posted May 1, 2006 by Mangini and Co. picking Clemens with their second round pick are they basically saying he is our QB of the future, or was this more of a depth move? Given the Jet qb group, I'd guess its a wide open competition. Clemons will have to work a little harder than a top 10 guy, but he's in a good situation and his future is in his own hands.
