biscuitman357 0 Posted May 25, 2006 Leftwich would be a good run and shoot QB. He'd probably be better off with the Redskins now versus the Jags. I think part of the problem is Del Rio. Hes an old school coach who was a former defensive player. The Jags have a strong D accordingly and I think Del Rio would prefer a Baltimore/Pitt style smashmouth kind of team (suffocating D, heavy on the run) . I don't think that suits Leftwich at all. I think Garrard does well because hes probably given a limited playbook and is asked to play very conservatively, manage the game, make half his third downs and not turn the ball over. Exactly what a smashmouth team or a team trying to play smashmouth needs. Jags would be better off trading Leftwich or dumping Del Rio. Both together probably won't work.
