Youre in a dirty spoiler spot in that hole. Anyone NOT named Big Joc Strap or Stonecoldsoonerfan is pretty much in the same boat anyway...... Im sure FWP will somehow fall to you if want to make that happen. #9 checking in. When life gives you a lemon, bust out the Black Label and get hammered. I'll raise hell at the bottom half of the draft. My friend Ace...firmly entrenched in the 9 hole. Oh, boy.....decisions, decisions. I actually like that spot. football_scooter 0 Posted June 7, 2006 Not really, I'm just trying to decide if I should draft chestor taylor with 3.3 I would. I try to stay loose - 3.4's a fine spot and there will be lots of talent on the board. Likewise at 2.09 when I take my second pick. Depending on what I do there, I may not be in a position to take Taylor. We'll see. That said, 4th bites my ass. The dropoff is huge from 3-4 potentially...unless you pick the right one. Let's see...one's over 30, one's got a crap O-Line but plays 6 against the NFC west and one's got mad skillz but plays in the toughest division. I wonder what Portis26 would do here....hrmmmmm... Im not going to give things away, but I think most of us know who 1 and 2 are going to be. the 3rd guy taken will likely be a guy that some of us superstitous nut cases simply wouldnt have the round ones to snag. If I were in the 3 hole, Id be panicking. Id love to have your spot....only bad thing about that spot for you is that I will be drafting ahead of you every even round...... ......... so you and I may as well get comfortable, brother. That already occurred to me, my soon-to-be nemisis. I am doing curls right now, to strengthen my arm in preparation for this every even round: But I actually don't mind 3rd. If any of the top 3 somehow miraculously slide, I've got no-brainer, and will think ill of the skillz of any in the top 3 who let me have him in the 4 hole. So let's get the rules posted and get picking!

football_scooter 0 Posted June 7, 2006 Yeah yeah, we all know you are taking Portis at 1.04 Picking Tiki would be too flattering to Sweetness. Who's to say Portis doesn't go 3rd. You never know. Either way I'm pleased. Tiki is 31, and I think his carries will be a bit reduced. Receptions may go up. But with Saunders in WASH, I have to give the nod to Portis at 4 if LT2 is gone. And if LT2 is sitting there, I get my favorite NFL player with the 4th pick, with upside to achieve 1000/1000 100 receptions like he did when Brees struggled with double digit TDs on the ground, and both ways in the air - can't complain about that either. But no way I'd take Tiki. If I had to choose between Edge & Tiki it's Tiki. Thank goodness I'm not in that position. Eh Solo? Since I know this crowd pretty well, I feel pretty confident it's going to be Portis. I'm more concerned about what's going to be there at 2.09 And yes Solo, I know... SoloMatisse 0 Posted June 7, 2006 My top pick will go against the grain and definitely shock some people....but if I were to pass on a guy who's slotted 8 or 9 just because thats where prognosticators think they should be chosen, then Id deserve whatever fate I got. So as it stands, if I think the guy commonly drafted in the 8 hole is the horse this year, then Ill saddle up and take him in the 5 hole. I was lookin' kinda goofy last year takin' LJ in the 5th round....for a little while anyway.

stonecoldsoonerfan 0 Posted June 7, 2006 do we do the draft on a thread like this? how exactly is it done? also, is there any reason we can't commence with the draft now? fyi, my wife's grandmother is not doing well. we may have to go to a funeral within a week or so. then again, maybe not. i'll try to fit in the best i can, but would appreciate consideration for the situation also if i have to be gone all day and can't meet the 12 hour time limit. i'm sure that everyone here will be pretty quick about drafting and i don't want to slow things up, but i don't know what's going to happen or when either. thanks! jocstrap 8 Posted June 7, 2006 Joc - so how do you like being the #1 pick? Joc replies - man I can't tell you how great the feeling is, but I like it alot? Joc - so who do you think you are going to take? Joc-replies - Well, I'm seriously considering LT LJ SA - I'll have to see what the Magazines tell me to pick Joc-Have you done a mock draft through five rounds since you were notified of the #1 pick? Joc replies - Hell ya I have, very excited about potential team. I think I can land a stud WR @3.01 but I'm really not too sure who to take as my #2 running back at 2.12. Kevin Jones, Deshaun Foster, Chester Taylor, Tatum bell, Ron Dayne, Jamal Lewis . Or do I take wr wr 2.12 and 3.1?? Im waiting to here from Clash on some draft site info. Hey guys, Saturday isnt looking good. We have 3 who have prior committments or illness, and we should just get going Sunday afternoon instead. I know some of you are extremely anxious to draft Larry Johnson and Tomlinson, but be patient.....so will SUNDAY around noon Eastern work for everyone?? If not, we can just kick if off at either the beginning of the week or next weekend. Look, if we push it back a little, it will only give everyone a little more time to prepare......cause some of you slackers are gonna need it!

As for the picks, I am quite confident that with Priest rumored to be coming back to the Quiffs, Larry Johnson will be falling to me at the 4 spot. Sorry solo - I know it'll be hard to take when he slides so close to you, then I take him. Man that's gonna suck for you. Yippie Skippy 0 Posted June 8, 2006 You must have pissed God off....nice God is just pissed that it is not football season and we're not playing football on His day of rest. Really, with Him I shoulda known better to even bring it up in early June. Maybe yesterday God was a lil' busy, and it was a bad day to ask for the 1 or 2 pick. Besides, He has a way of making thangs up. We have agreed to most of the rules and format, but a list of unsettled things to vote on would be nice. I'd like to vote against negative points for INTs. I just don't think that a QB should be penalized when a WR runs the wrong route or an O-lineman misses a blocking assignment. Seems like it diminishes the value of the QB position even more. Only one QB will go in the first three rounds as it is. Then some guy will take Brady or hmmm...Carson Palmer in the 4th??

Only one QB will go in the first three rounds as it is. Then some guy will take Brady or hmmm...Carson Palmer in the 4th?? We already discussed negative scoring. The majority wanted it. -2 for Int and -1 for fumbles, -1 fumbles lost seems like a perfectly reasonable way to do it. My opinion: If there aren't negative points, it's gay and makes weak QBs more valuable. Aaron Brooks potentially becomes a top 5 guy because his 25 Tds aren't offset by his 16 picks. Weak. To your points, a Qb should absolutely be penalized when he tosses up a jump ball in double coverage or makes a boneheaded throw because he doesn't see the S cheating up to cut off the route he's been reading. And those things happen a hell of a lot more often than the errant route. Qbs are responsible for 90% of the interceptions. I assign 5% to WRs making mistakes and 5% to DBs outplaying them. Of all the questions, I didn't think this wasn't up for vote. solo?
