Uh-huh 0 Posted June 12, 2006 Two men from Saudi Arabia and one from Yemen were found dead shortly after midnight on Saturday in separate cells, said the US Southern Command, which has jurisdiction over the prison. Attempts to revive the men were unsuccessful. "They hung themselves with fabricated nooses made out of clothes and bed sheets," Navy Rear-Admiral Harry Harris, the base commander, said. "They have no regard for human life, neither ours nor their own. I believe this was not an act of desperation but an act of asymmetric warfare against us." http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/internatio...fm?id=861802006 The Bush administration distanced itself Monday from a remark by a senior U.S. official calling the suicide of three prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay detention center a public relations move. The State Department said the choice of words was unfortunate. The subsequent comment to the BBC by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Colleen Graffy that the suicides were "a good P.R. move" to draw attention. http://voanews.com/english/2006-06-12-voa50.cfm "Memo to all US Troops in harm's way: if captured, just commit suicide.
