Elon 0 Posted June 12, 2006 Marshall Faulk has had a great career achieving everything he possibly can, and is a top five back for my generation. I admit I think the Rams could be a sleeper pick next year. If he stayed with the Rams I don't think it would be as embarressing as when Emitt Smith went to the Cards. Faulk is a team player and knows he would only be a role player at this point in his career. But, I think Faulk should walk away from the game while he still can. pimptastic69 0 Posted June 13, 2006 It's a hard call. You never want to see the super stars retire, but you don't want to see them fail either. When you think about Jim Brown and Barry Sanders, you always say, what if? But then you consider Jerry Rice and Emmit Smith, and you cringed when they sucked so bad late in their careers and wished they would have retirered earlier. GobbleDog 996 Posted June 13, 2006 Clearly he should, but I'm getting the feeling he won't retire until after this year.
-jb- 0 Posted June 13, 2006 one thing i would like to see, with faulk or with another legend, is to migrate immediately into a coaching role on the team he retires from. this would be a classy and effective move in many ways.
Parkers99 0 Posted June 13, 2006 He's not even a shell of his former self and hasn't been in quite a while. He needs to move onto his inevitable career as a football commentator. The guy's got charisma. I wish him the best & thanks for the memories.
Bigbrotherisback 0 Posted June 13, 2006 Faulk has nothing to prove, and for the most part won't be allowed to prove anything anyways. He doesn't have the competitive drive to continue (stepped aside willingly to allow Jackson to be the starter last season). At this age (33) when you don't have the motivation, don't have the time for off-season conditioning (due to injury), you best bet is to pursue another life style.
