TommyGavin 790 Posted June 13, 2006 Does your company use either one ? My company is thinking of going from timeclock to handscan. Basically looking for a handscan hack lol. I know it measures, legnth and thickness and does not use fingerprints. Will be alot of un happy people here if they do it. Easier for me since I do the payroll, but I still think it sucksass
ALL STATE 0 Posted June 13, 2006 I know it measures, legnth and thickness and does not use fingerprints. Whats her name? My company just switched to this. I am not so sure if I would be too happy if I were you. There is always at least one person a week, a day, who forgets to punch in or out. With manual cards we could have at least hand wrote the time in, taking all of 3 seconds. Now there is 15 minute computer process to add, subtracte, etc, etc each person who forgets. Not sure how much extra work you'll have to do. I found "forgetting" to pay someone for the day easily corrects any future amnesia bouts. The best part about this, is the argument that comes the following week. "I can't believe you didn't pay me for working,..how could you forget!!" When people lose money they tend to learn quicker. TommyGavin 790 Posted June 13, 2006 Oh I KNOW it is going to be a nightmare. I'm told I'd have to printout daily reports, check them against schedule and make adjustments as fit ( sick day, personal day, vaca.... ). and from what I'm told it'll be to the minute, so if you punch in 3 mins late - your check is going to be 39 hours, 57 minutes. Thats petty and cheap. ON THE OTHER HAND - I dont have to be the bad guy and say "you can't leave early tonight" - with this it'll be get paid for what you scan for. Mixed feeling.
