July 12th, Live Yahoo IDP draft. 12 teams 25 rds - can you hang

I've tried too draft twice last week and both times Yahoo Focked me because I couldn't get enough players. My fault too since I wait until that night to get people to join and I set the draft too late so if it does miss we can't get another time that night.

This way its set at 8 at night so we can get another time that night if we have too and I'm givin an 11 day notice to all that are interested.

I'm setting it to private so only people from this site can join.

Here are the setting and I hope only the serious join. As always; open to suggestions.

I saw it last year. Its fun, high points. If you played team DS and have won 50% or more of the leagues you played in; don't you think its time for a little change. First time draftin IDP you might want to do a little research before next Wed. The sites projections are a good startin point.

Cool name, this thing is filling up fast, Will be a good league. I didn't publish it on yahoo so everyone that has joined so far is from some fantasy football site. This will be one of my most competitive leagues yet.

still cant get in, maybe in shouldnt play! lol. I typed in the league ID#133864 and the pw and I go this:

 

There was a problem

 

* There was a temporary problem with the server. Please try again shortly. (Error #115)

* The password is incorrect. (Error #109)

* The league is not in pre-draft mode. (Error #209)

i joined and like i said on the league page, 3 things im not a fan of

 

1. the points for rushing attempt. never understood rewarding a player because the coach called his number. At least with receptions, the player has to catch the ball himself.

 

2. point per passing attempt. also never understood giving points just for throwing it up. should have to at least make something of the pass.

 

3. the starting lineup. IMO way too many players for a 12 team league. should consider getitng rid of 1 WR spot, the WR/TE and one of the DL

I understand your points that the league is different, heres what I have to add.

I always felt that 10yds a point makes for too high of a score and 20 yds a point is too low while 15yds a point just doesn't sound right. In my league, the RBs get .2 of a point per rush att w/ 1point per 20 yds; this allows for the workhorses to get a couple of more points than the goalline backs or the guys who break one.

 

Same w/ the QBs, 50yds is a lot for 1 pt while 25yds isn't ebough; .2 a comp give you a couple of extra points for the guys who throw the ball. Besides, the .2 doesn't add to a lot in the end.

 

As for the starting line up, I used it last year w/ a 14 team league and we had no problems. Yea, you won't be able to have a totally stacked line up but to me whats the fun in that.

well im not saying anyone should have a stacked lineup. (BTW i joined this league). im not trying to start problems or anything just giving my opinion. a WR/TE flex spot usually seems good with no TE req. but this league also has a TE req. so the WR/TE specific flex spot just seems to be overkill

 

the leagues i usually run give a pt for 20 yards passing and a point for 10 yards rushing or receiving... i think 50 and 20 is perfectly fine but i noticed that with this scoring, RB's were head and shoulders above WR's and QB's last season. I think it has a lot to do with getting a full point for every 5 rushing attempts.

i agree with the point you made on the .2 per passing attempt but i still think the .2 per rush attempt is again, overkill

 

all in all though i am looking forward to my first IDP league and some of this scoring system! :cheers:
