gottabesweet84 0 Posted July 2, 2006 Doing a dynasty for a first time ever. How do you adjust your rankings with guys like Curtis Martin, Issac Bruce, You know the older guys. Is Cedric Houston ranked higher in your minds? Im keeping LT, McGahee and Caddy and picking 4.12 and once this draft is complete we are going full dynasty. The draft will basically be crazy right, depending on the owner. Some will draft to win now, some later, or a mix. Do you even look at the contracts? If so where can I get a free agent list. I will be looking at ages more so if Im stuck between two players. Just any insight or help or tips would be appreciated.
Rookie QB 0 Posted July 2, 2006 I'm in the middle of a dynasty draft and some of the picks are different. Younger, emerging players are given more attention. Example, #4 overall Tiki Barber vs Clinton Portis Portis would get the definate advantage due to age.

Im just curious on the late rounds. When your draft is complete, mind if I see your draft results?
Belushi 9 Posted July 2, 2006 People tend to focus on age too much in a dynasty draft. Your team should be built to win this year, not 3 years from now. Draft a mix of veterans and youth. Don't reach too much for a player just because he's younger and pass on an established veteran. Veterans can be had cheap, and can make the difference in winning this year. That's probably the best advice anyone can give regarding dynasty drafting. I've been guilty of the youth movement myself and it can be a big hole to dig yourself out of. WKTSWAY 0 Posted July 3, 2006 I drafted my first dynasty last year. I picked a lot of 3-5 year experience players. I got McGahee, Rudi, Wayne, Burleson, and Palmer in the first 5 rounds. One thing I would say is try and trade to get a player you think will do well. I traded up to the top of the 5th round last year so I could get Carson Palmer. It paid off and I got 2nd place last year. Never underestimate the older players though.
