Terrorazer 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Call me dumb, but what do those numbers actually signify? The amount of times these players were targeted by their quarterbacks. In other words, had a pass thrown their way.

WIDE RECEIVERS Anquan Boldin 171 Plaxico Burress 166 Chris Chambers 166 Larry Fitzgerald 165 i wish they could break it out to just KWarner targeting LFitz v. ABoldin... but on the surface this makes me feel ALOT more like ABoldin really is the #1 WR in ARZ considering he played 2 less games than LFitz. I know alot of people think that LFitz gets more of the redzone looks, but ABoldin has had 8 TDs in each of the 2 years he's really got to play full years - that's not too shabby to add on to his yardage numbers and this number of targets. Another note is that CChambers was being targeted by QBs that are no longer there, so it'll be interesting to see what CPep does w/ him. And these numbers also make me like Plax a little better to be the #2 WR on a ff team. I've already had him creeping up my board, and it makes me believe he could really be a good value at his current ADP of 4.03.

Call me dumb, but what do those numbers actually signify? The more targets; the more pass they catch.

I remember reading somewhere last year towards the end of the year a site had targets broken down game by game. There was a stretch towards the end of the year where Boldin had significantly more targets than Fitz when Warner was in there. I can't remember the site, but I had Fitz at the time and I always watched the play by play on NFL.com and noticed that Boldin was getting a lot of passes his way every time I would watch. Nichee 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Dallas Clark caught my eye. With him, I sometimes tend to think, well, he's the tight end on the high-powered Colts, he's bound to get his. But the top tier tight ends got twice as many looks as he did in 2005. Granted, everyone expects the Colts to pass more this year, though. The Philly WRs also jumped out to me. 3 guys with 90+ looks, one being T.O. With him out of the mix, smells like major opportunity brewing.

famousb 11 Posted July 5, 2006 http://www.fflivewire.com/stats/redzone.asp fitz had 1 more redzone look. wow, now that really says alot to me considering Boldin had missed those two games... I think if Boldin can stay healthy the entire year he should have just as good of a shot to be a top 5 WR as LFitz... other #s that were surprising: 1. the number of red zone targets Keyshawn had - 40 - making him #1 on the list. If that translates into CAR is another question, but if it does he is definitely a great #3 WR on any FF team, and a decent #2 that can be had very late in the draft considering his current ADP is 10.09 and he's been in the top 30 WRs for fantasy football almost every year of his career. 2. TJ Housh. was #5 on the list with 25 red zone targets - 7 targets above Chad Johnson. His ADP of 5.04 definitely reflects his value as a #2 WR.
