Polamalu43 0 Posted July 25, 2006 Basic scoring system in a ppr league. Who has more value? I personally think DD is the better back in this type of a league, but his knee "issues" are a little worrying. I also know that Westy gains a lot of ground on many backs in a ppr league. Just thought I'd throw out a couple of backs that might be closely ranked in this type of league and get some opinions. Also, any news on DD's knee? famousb 11 Posted July 25, 2006 In a PPR, Westbrook's the choice even if DD is healthy. 70+ rec's guaranteed. 1500+ total yds., 10 TDs. oh, and that's just in 14 games... here's a tip: PHI Offense > HOU Offense...
Joe Willie 0 Posted July 25, 2006 In a PPR, Westbrook's the choice even if DD is healthy. I'm not so sure....lets compare: 2005 Davis 11 games 1313 combined yds 6 tds Westy 12 games 1233 combined yds 7 tds 2004 Davis 15 games 1776 combined yds 14 tds Westy 13 games 1515 combined yds 9 tds 2003 Davis 14 games 1382 combined yds 8 tds (rookie season) Westy 15 games 945 combined yds 11 tds combined last 3 years: Davis 40 games 4471 combined yds 28 tds Westy 40 games 3693 combined yds 27 tds Those stats are with Houston having quite possibly the worst offensive line in the league. Now with Kubiak there implementing Denver's system, Davis will put up even better numbers. And for those who say Davis is an injury risk....Westbrook has never played a full season either. Houston wouldn't have passed on Reggie Bush if they were worried about Davis' knee or overall health. My pick is Davis to have a big year.

I unloaded Jerry Porter for Dom Davis in my keeper league and I'm glad to see someone else has the common sense to look at the numbers. I think Davis is the obvious choice here and has clearly outperformed Westbrook. Its hard to argue with stats and facts, although there are many here who often do. Once Houston starts using the Denver scheme (cut blocks and all), Davis over Westbrook - without question - end of discussion

DaveJ 0 Posted July 26, 2006 I continue to say this.. DD is the probably the best PPR RB not named LT. Both have injury concerns though and only LT, Edge, Tiki or Jordan would be better options in that format. Keep an eye open for Ronnie Brown and Caddilac this year though... both could be PPR gold mines.
