keeper league rule chaos

Ok, I am in a 12 team 5 keeper league.....We have had the same owners for 2 or 3 years now...We have this rule that any team can drop his/her team at the start of the season as long as another team drops also. This rule has never been an issue as no one has evey used it till this season...a little background....this is a money league so attitudes are strong for some....anyway....we have about 5 owners that are always near the bottom of the league every year same story....one guy is gonna pick all packers and Bears, 1 guy keeos 2 TE's stuff like that....Well the owner who finished 4th in the league and has 5 solid keepers decided he wanted to drop his team....He pushed hard with one of 2 of the bottom owners to drop with him...that owner has TO...The guy who finished 4th knows that that owner will not pick TO after all his problems....When a team drops the enter the draft and will rotate the 1st 5 rounds then everyone else picks up in the 6th round where the 2 that drop fall to the end....SO that owner that finished 4th knows he can drop and jump in the first 5 rounds and get edge and TO and whoever else and build his team any better....No I know this rule is in place but it was only passed to help the bad teams to keep the league competitive....but several of us think this owner is taking advantage of the league and is only looking out for his team....I had to sound like a cry baby becaus I am not but I just dont like the way this is playing out....What are yalls opinions

if dude wants to dropp his team....let him drop his team...and only give him like 2 or 3 picks in the first round or something...it is his team and his money....maybe give him a free pick and then first pick in the regular draft?

I got lost about 1/2 through that, but understand a basic premise which may apply. You all voted in a league rule and the guys whats to take advantage. You have 3 options:

 

1. Let him utilize the rule and then take a league vote to "change/tweak" it (and hope you down lose an owner(s)

 

2. Use your commisioner powers (which hopefully you established) and tell him him find this to be an abuse of the rule and will be disallowed (and maybe lose him)

 

3. Do #2, but put it before a league vote (same result, but you will know how everyone really feels)

 

Not much more you can do than that. Either way, I think every league should revisit their rules at the end of each year (while they are fresh) and vote on possible changes that may have been found.
