The Fighting Monk 0 Posted August 9, 2006 I am picking 11th in a 12 man league and I am looking at which RBs could still be there. I keep seeing Jordan ranked high than I expected. Why? I know that Shell will want to run the ball more and he is trying to improve the O-Line, but I still do not see how he will out perform R. Johnson, S. Jackson, or R. Brown. What is the arguement for Jordan? Thanks
redtodd 7 Posted August 9, 2006 I'd like to know too. I have him as a keeper, and I do not feel confident about it. I tried to trade him to the guy who has Ronnie Brown. No go.

Jordan had a good year all in 2005 all things considered. He runs hard and has good skills and If OAK could have controlled games more he would have alot more rushing yards. as it turned out he got alot of dump offs out of the backfield so in a PPR he should be ranked right about 10. In a non ppr he would be a more of a 14-15 pick. also keep in mind there really isnt much else out there.
DanXIII 8 Posted August 9, 2006 He's a PPR god, that's why. If you're in a PPR league then he could produce top-8 numbers a la Tiki Barber. If you're not in a PPR league I'd say bump him down a few notches.

stewartcjae 0 Posted August 9, 2006 He finished at the 7spot in my league last year (non ppr). Should have more rushing yds and less recieving this year but should even out mostly. I dont see any reason he wouldnt finish in the 7-12 range this year.
thenext0 0 Posted August 9, 2006 I was very high on Jordan coming into this year. I had him last year, and thought about taking him in the 1st round this year as my feature back. Unfortunately, I've come back down to earth a bit on my projections for him. His schedule SUCKS. (home team in caps) 1. OAK vs. sd - bad matchup, san diego had the #1 rush D last year (ypg) 2. oak vs. BAL - bad matchup, another top 10 rush D 3. bye 4. OAK vs. cle - could have a big game here, he runs better at home 5. oak vs. SF - good matchup 6. oak vs. DEN - bad matchup 7. OAK vs. ari - good matchup 8. OAK vs. pit - bad matchup 9. oak vs. SEA - bad matchup 10. OAK vs. den - should be better than week 6 since he's at home 11. oak vs. KC - bad matchup 12. oak vs. SD - bad matchup 13. OAK vs. hou - good matchup 14. oak vs. CIN - good matchup 15. OAK vs. stl - good matchup 16. OAK vs. kc - should be better than week 11 since he's at home I count 5 good matchups, and 3 of them come at a clutch time of the year (fantasy playoffs). He should be money in the playoffs IF he stays healthy...but more importantly, will it matter if you don't even make the playoffs? Will he put up #1 RB numbers through that rough a schedule? Maybe he will, supposively he had just as tough of a schedule last year. It all hinges on his receiving stats, IMO.

Good analysis but I cant see how any offensive player has a "bad" matchup against KC...whether it's home or away......
