termitator89 0 Posted August 12, 2006 I do not have MSOffice or Excel. I have used other products which are Excel-based in the past with OpenOffice (which is a free office-like software). I was wondering if you knew if these products will run on the OpenOffice spreadsheet. Thanks for any info/help Termitator
zhinz 0 Posted August 12, 2006 I remember trying to use OpenOffice at some point. From what I recall, it worked a little bit. I don't remember to what extent. We use OpenOffice at work (small business = too cheap to buy MS Office). I will check it out and get back to you. Hey, Mike, do you know if the Microsoft Office Trial versions work running the Compiler? http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/p...ndardtrial.mspx These only work for like 60 days, but as long as they work up to the time of your draft, that's all that matters, right? Mike MacGregor 20 Posted August 13, 2006 Sorry terminator, but I don't believe OpenOffice will work. Although I haven't tested it this year, in prior years the big issue was the lack of VisualBasic support in OO. There is a lot of macro programming in both the Compiler and Buddy which is necessary to make it go, which OO doesn't seem to be able to run. However, that is a great link by Zac. I believe you can download the trial version of Office and assuming it is fully operational for the trial period, then you should be able to use the Compiler and Buddy in it just fine.
