leftyguitar 0 Posted August 26, 2006 I was initially gonna take a gamble on Thomas Jones / Cedric Benson and not draft a kicker, but after seein jones struggle for yardage tonight i'm leaning towards staying away from the entire chicago RBBC mess. (unless anybody can convince me otherwise) if not, i'm gonna get my K and DEF to finish off my draft. please advise on who's looking the best out of these untouted positions. (gimme a top three please) kickers who are NOT AVAILABLE: Rackers, Vinatieri, Vanderjagt, Wilkins. defense teams NOT AVAILABLE: pitt, baltimore, tampa, indy, giants, dallas, jax, chicago, carolina, seattle. thanks guys, as always leave me a link! (scoring system is in the sig... (we don't give points for special teams stuff to DEF teams. its pure points allowed, fum, int, sack, safety, block kick, turnover for TD.) Me_2006 14 Posted August 26, 2006 Well, I stand by my earlier advice of the Bears RBBC draft idea and just buy the K/Def later. But if you're set on drafting them, as far as kickers go, I say give a look to Brown(SEA), Kaeding(SD), Graham(CIN), Akers(PHI) and Elam(DEN). All of these are either proven Kickers, on teams that score tons of points, or both. It's really just a toss up any given week on who to take so just take the one that plays for your favorite team or something and be done with it. As for Defenses that are left, take a good look at Washington, they're who I took...although my league scores Special Teams too. I think Denver added alot of pass rush help, and have a very good secondary. They also run the ball alot so the other team shouldnt have much T.O.P. against them, limiting points. Miami is worth a look as the 3rd D left in my opinion. Saban is an amazing defensive coach, and he has tons of weapons on D to get after the QB and force TO's which is also paired with what should be a good offense, giving them the chance to just defend the pass while teams are playing from behind (more INT's). Atlanta is worth a look too with all the offseason additions, but again...these are all basically toss ups and I would still just advise you to go with the RB's, DEF/K's are a dime a dozen. Good luck though, and let me know something on that Westbrook/Brown/Branch trade lol. Take a look at mine please. Thanks Link
bjlmonster 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Agree with sticking with the Bears option, but that is just me (and Me_2006)! If you go kicker, lots of great options. I like Rackers, Vinatieri, Vander, Wilikins in that order, then D I like Jax, Car, Bal, Indy, Sea in that order Good luck
shake_a_leg 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Do you know who the OVERALL #2 scorer in the NFL was last year? Jay Feely. 43/43 on extra points. 35/42 on field goals = 148pts If Rackers hadn't gone 40/42 and had a dozen 50 yarders, everyone would be talking about Feely...honestly surprised his name never comes up, but tomorrow is my draft so I'll share. For the defensive question....Bears, Miami, Minnesota...even Cincinnatti....
