nocarbs 0 Posted August 28, 2006 I have been offered the #1 pick in the draft plus a 6th round pick (#60 overall) for my #1 and #2(16th pick overall). Non-keeper. I am a little worried because the rb postion is really thin this year. However, it is only a 10 team league. Maybe Frank Gore, D.Foster or Mike Bell might still be there in round 5. Should I trade up to #1? Thanks Please Leave Link.
BadMojo11 0 Posted August 28, 2006 To get one of the big 3 I would go for that deal...you can get backs later as you said
sa37no1 0 Posted August 28, 2006 I agree .. I would trade up and take Alexander .. he's won it for me 2 of the last 3 years beating the guy with Priest then LJ... in a 10 teamer you should be able to get a quality no 2 in the 3rd... http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=225421
JediMaster 20 Posted August 28, 2006 Personally, I would not do that Please See Mine
thannay 0 Posted August 28, 2006 I would do it. The talent pool in the 2nd round is weak for RB's and you can pick up a solid WR in the 3rd. To have one of the big 3 would be gravy. I say do it and don't look back.
krow41 0 Posted August 28, 2006 Personally, I wouldn't make the move. I'm guessing you have the 5th pick since your 2nd round pick is #16 overall. If so, making this trade would give you the following picks: 1 25 36 Sure, you will have one of the big 3, but you're going to struggle to find a good 2nd RB or an top tier WR at 25. Making the move would mean that at least 4 other teams will have drated 3 players by the time your second pick comes along. It's a steep price to pay- too much if you ask me. If you really want one of the top 3, maybe try to trade up to #2 or #3. Probably won't cost you as much. van-guard 0 Posted August 29, 2006 In a 10-team league, there's plenty of value in the later rounds. I think the key is picking up the marquee players when you can and augmenting your roster with value picks.
boogaloobboy 0 Posted August 29, 2006 This is where the huge difference between 10 and 12 team leagues surfaces. If you make this trade you gain LJ/SA and give basically Brown/Edge and then flipping to Holt/Smith/Jordan. The decision basically rests on how much you believe in one of the big three versus what you think you can get out of the 5 and 16 pick. If you think your gonna get 500 yards and 6-10 TD difference then do it. In 10 team leagues and picking 25th and 36th your looking at decent talent, but not having a 2 is a devestating hit. Your giving up 2 quality backs for the one stud, which is further a risk due to the fact that if whomever you draft 1 goes down your up the creek. And looking further you are giving someone in the league picks 5,16,20 and 21. If you make this trade you guarantee the guy the league title. Stay in your hole ten team leagues end up with everyone having stupid teams so your not going to lose simply by not having a big 3 back. The trade is not even remotely fair unless he allows you to keep your 2 and instead takes your 3.
