Trade help...RB potential?

Recommended Posts

I'm in a 14 team ESPN league with QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, DEF, K. My team looks like this.

QB: Plummer, Leftwich

RB: Mcgahee, Benson, Rhodes, M. Barber, Fason

WR: Steve Smith, Burress, Porter, Devery Henderson, Reggie Williams, Roddy White

TE: Heath Miller

DEF: Tampa Bay

K: Shayne Graham

I've been offered Stallworth/Thomas Jones/Kevan Barlow for Burress/Rhodes/M. Barber

I like the idea of getting Jones to make my RB situation more concrete (guaranteed 2nd starter), and with the recent Stallworth trade to the Eagles I think he could be much more valuable. However, do you think I'm paying too much with those 2 RBs? I'm not so sure what to make of Rhodes and Barber. Rhodes could easily start and be better than Barlow, Barber should be consistently getting some carries and even could threaten to start.

I would not take any trade that involved me getting Kevan Barlow. Avoid him like the plague. Trust me, he sat on my bench all last season. Not good enough to start or get any trade offers, but just good enough that I couldn't cut him. I do think you should try for a 2nd RB starter, but I'm not sure this is the one I'd go with.

trade looks pretty even. burress is better than stallworth but stallworth showed last yer he could be the man if needed.

jones and rhodes. jones could be the man in chicago or he could ride the bench. rhodes will at least be GL back w/ mungro out and my be RBBC for the whole year.

barlow and mbIII. i really like marion barber since we hung out and south padre island last year. all he talked about was maroney and he dogged one of my frineds for dropping him during the last fantasy season. that being said, these guys could be pretty even. barlow goes to a very similar situation in ny that he wa sin sff. expect last year's pathetic stats. mbIII has the potential to be stud or ride the pine except for some 3rd downs.

this trade is loaded with potential, it all depends on who you want to risk for. jones has the best chance out of all of these to be the everydown back and get the most points. the rest will be splitting, play roles, and RBBC.

I think you would be losing out on this one.

It looks good to have both Jones and Benson, but here in Chicago, it doesn't really look like it's gonna be an "either-or" situation. To make matters worse, Adrian Petersen is being talked about a lot too.

Burress will be awesome this year, even with Stallworth going to Philly, and Barber would be nice to have as soon as Julius gets hurt again. I wouldn't give up Burress to run into a "which Bears RB do I play this week" situation. And even if it gets figured out by week 5, you still would like to win the first few weeks, right?

Just my opinion.

I liek the trade....Stallworth is with the eagles now so that'll help him...I like Buress but they have a tough schedule. I think Barlow is alright. You can't compare him to last yr now he's on a different team. Thomas Jones and Benson.....you should have both. Rhodes will be RBBC and the #2 back in Indy. M Barber is a ok handcuff but whos to say J Jones goes down? I know he maight but I see a RBBC in Dallas.

I say go for it
