Clark89 0 Posted August 30, 2006 I'm a rookie Fantasy Footballer and the cheatsheet was great to help me research my picks. I got a glaring question though! As a rookie i'm in a tough league (16 man no keeper league with all the guys from work and I'm 12th pick). The team positions are QB, RB, WR, WR, TE, K, DEF, FLEX, FLEX. Flex means TE, RB, WR The question I have is does the cheatsheet rate based on keeper leagues? I'm wonderin now why Addai was given such high marks. I ask because I grabbed a top Wide Receiver on pick 12 after the top 10 RBs were gone then waited til the 21st pick. nBased on the fact that the remaining "top RBs" from the cheatsheet were gone I took Joseph Addai and I'm getting a ribbing. Reggie Bush was taken right after me, so I don't feel too bad, but I don't even know if I should start Addai now and I got some fellows expressing sympathy and offering to take him off my hands. zhinz 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Everyone will be low on Addai because he hasn't won the starting role. Yet. That doesn't mean it wasn't a good pick. Half of the first-round picks each year fail to live up to expectations For what it's worth, the two sites I consult are this sites projections and the KUBIAK projections from footballoutsiders.com . FFToday has him as the 11th RB. KUBIAK has him as the 18th RB. He'll probably be somewhere in that range. The only thing that I would point out is the Average Draft Position information. Addai's average draft spot is late in the 3rd round in 16-team leagues. With that in mind Addai was probably a reach. It's a good lesson for your draft next year though. While who you draft is important, sometimes where you draft them is more important. Addai probably would have been a good value with your pick in the 3rd. With that said, I wouldn't trade him though. You might as well rid it out and see how he does.
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted August 30, 2006 NFL.com fantasy rule #6: Avoid "Friendly" advice. Funny how they ribbed the pick, but are now more than happy to take him off your hands. How sweet As Zac said, Addai might have been a bit of a reach in the early 2nd, but it is tough to tell in 16 team leagues because there are a lot of picks between your turns, especially 2nd to 3rd round from the 12 spot. I still think Addai will win the job, and I've been drafting him accordingly. I own him in 3 leagues now I think, so if he crashes and burns, take some comfort you are not alone.
