leftyguitar 0 Posted September 2, 2006 I've got deion branch... looks like he's gonna take his battle with the pats to the next level. i don't need him on my team, i've got nasty WR corps, i just drafted him in the 13th round for trade bait, but nobody's biting. I offered him up for a backup DEF and nobody wants to trade. I've been thinking about dropping branch and picking up a DEF to play matchups with. I've got miami to play when they're playing weak teams... but they start the year off at pittsburg. I was thing of grabbing Arizona's D to matchup at home against the 9ers or maybe Philly against the Texans. other D's that are available on the FA market: Atlanta (@Car), Cincinatti (@KC), Minnesota (@Was), KC (cin), Buffalo (@ NE). who would you pick up and what do you guys think of the idea of just playing matchups and switching D's every week, since I don't have one of the top 5? this would also give me somebody to drop in week 3 for a bye week filler for Gonzo's spot. thanks, and as always leave a link! p.s. in case anyone's been following my posts, we abolished the FA bidding idea, nobody really liked it. so now FA pickups are free... thats why I'm thinkin of doing this. harrinjj22 0 Posted September 2, 2006 I really wouldn't drop Branch as of yet. Wait till next Thursday before you make any drastic decisions, then if there is still bad news, drop him and pick up Arizona against the 9ers. Please see mine. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=227478

sharkie22 0 Posted September 2, 2006 I agree as far as keeping Branch til just before the season starts. You never know what kind of deal may come through at the last minute for Branch and for you. If nothing comes of it your in good shape to use a roster spot for just what you said. Defenses, covering TE bye weeks or even picking up a FA who starts to look good to you. There's always someone who went undrafted and ends up doing fairly well.
