start miami (@ pitt) or new england (buf) DEF?

I was going to start New England D... but I'm re-thinking due to the fact that pitt will now have Charlie Batch as their starter for this game. any ideas?

I've got the same dilemma. NE is at home. Miami will be playing at Heinz Field. Tough call...........I'm leaning towards the home team.

Boy, that's almost a coin flip. My first instinct would be to start New England although I have some question marks about their D this year. I've been back and forth for days on the Pittsburgh/Miami game. Miami does have a great defense, and it is Charlie Batch, and isn't Hines Ward questionable? I think either way you go can be justified. So probably go with your gut and hope for the best.

Charlie Batch 2001 Detroit: 10 games, 12 TD/12 INT, 33 sacks 4 fumbles lost

J.P Losman 2005 Buffalo: 9 games, 8 TD/8 INT, 26 sacks, 3 fumbles lost

 

I'd say they're both comparable. Looks like Batch might be a little more sack prone and mistake prone, plus Losman has had more recent game experience than Batch.

I don't think you can really use those numbers as a comparison though. Pitt has a better offensive line so they will give up less sacks. Both QB's are good for atleast 1 pick (if not 2) so that's a wash. I'd stick with NE.
