Gepetto 1,438 Posted September 19, 2006 See my signature below for my roster. I can't justify dropping any of these players. I could drop Chargers Defense for another defense, maybe Falcons, but I don't really want to chance losing Chargers D. What do you suggest I do? Scoring in my league: 1 pt for fumble recovery, 1 pt for interception, 6 pts for a touchdown, 2 pts for a saftey. 10 points for a shutout. 5 points for allowing 1-6 points. 3 points for allowing 7-13 pts. Allowing 14 or more points is not worth any points. Sacks are NOT worth any points. Defenses in my league usually score 1-3 pts each week. Unless they get a touchdown (which is pretty rare) or get a shutout (also rare but occurring more often this year), then they aren't worth much. My opponent for week 3 has P. Manning R. Wayne T. Housh C. Portis T. Jones A. Crumpler R. Gould Denver Defense (he would start A. Toomer if Housh can't go, and D. Rhodes if Portis can't go. Leave link and I'll be happy to answer yours. runninkyle17 0 Posted September 19, 2006 Try this. Talk to a guy in your league that has a bye week at one of his other positions and is need of points at that position. See if they have a backup D and just try and talk them into a one week trade. Only do this if you can trust the other people in your league. But if you do this it is basically a win-win for both of you. Here's mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=234687

Here's mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=234687 That's pretty good thinking outside the box, but the only guy with an extra defense doesn't need a tight end this week, and I'm not loaning out a qb, wr, or rb. I guess if I could find someone that could pick up an extra defense and trade it to me for one week, it might work, but the person with Witten (bye week 3) has a backup TE, and the person with Tony Gonzalez (bye week 3) has two backup TEs. benbadman 0 Posted September 19, 2006 you could try and trade 2 of your players for 1 "upgrade" player (perhaps WR) thus freeing up a roster spot to use to pickup an extra defense, then kicker for your bye weeks) definitely you have to start a defense, even a bad defense will get you at least 4-5 points, and 7-10 points is very possible out of a D that is playing against a turnover prone offense (Ari, Cleveland, GB)
brya31 0 Posted September 19, 2006 I was in the same situation and I dropped SD D for the Miami D(vs Tenn) I dont mind changing D's based on matchup ....of course I dont have the Chicago D either
Gepetto 1,438 Posted September 20, 2006 Does anyone know if Yahoo allows you to leave a roster spot empty without penalizing you??? I'm thinking of leaving my defense empty and then having the option to pick up a defense in an afternoon game or Sunday Night or Monday Night game if I need extra points. Nevermind, found it: Ask Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football Help 1. You do not have to start a player at every roster position, but fantasy points and statistics will only be accumulated by those players on your starting roster. 2. Players are only eligible to play at those position(s) designated by Yahoo! Sports. 3. If you pick up a player, but later realize you did not want him on your team, you may immediately waive him. However, you can only claim and waive the same player two times every 24 hours. 4. All active players earn fantasy points for all of your league's categories (you do not receive points for players on your bench). Points coming from categories not normally associated with a player's position (e.g., a kicker who throws a touchdown pass) are called miscellaneous points and are indicated by an asterisk (*) to the right of a player's point total. 5. All managers can set their rosters weeks in advance by going to the proper day on their team page and making the needed changes. However, all future lineups will be lost if a current player is dropped or traded, or if a new player is added to the current roster. So if during Week 2, you submitted a roster for Weeks 3 and 4, but then go and pick up a free agent for Week 1, your future lineup changes will all be lost even though they had been saved earlier.
