Killer Elite 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Holy chit! I was just offered Ronnie Brown (MIA) and Steve Smith (CAR) for Larry Johnson.... Damn I love Larry Johnson, but how can I not take this deal? I think Steve smith would replace Amahn Green at my Flex. Do the points add up? What do you all think?
Bearshopeful 0 Posted September 21, 2006 You can't make that trade. LJ is performing and Smith hasn't played a game yet. If you loose LJ your RB is going to be much weeker even if you do get R. Brown. I wouldn't do it. LJ is bringing in the points and will probably bring in more with Green out. Huard is likely to be running around in trouble looking for more dump off passes. JackARoot 2 Posted September 21, 2006 I'd do it, I think KC looks snake-bit this year. The O-Line isn't as good, Trent aint comin back anytime soon, the D is struggling. Ronnie isn't a huge downgrade, but Steve Smith is a huge upgrade and I have a feeling he'll be playing soon. Killer Elite 0 Posted September 21, 2006 I tend to agree with bearshopfull.. but damn this is tempting. What I have to determin is will Amahn Green and Larry Johnson put up better numbers than Ronnie Brown and Steve Smith. The more I look at it at best they are equal which means I shouldnt pull the trigger.... Anyone else disagree? Thanks!
Dascoopman 0 Posted September 21, 2006 I think I would jump on that if I were you cause I dont think Smith is going to be out too much longer and he will help a ton come Playoff time. Look at it this way, would you rather have LJ/Holt/TO/Rhodes or Williams starting or Ronnie Brown/TO/Holt/Smith come playoff time? I'd take the later and go with it, i think Ronnie Brown is gonna have a real good season. Thanks for mine
irish2007 0 Posted September 21, 2006 i wouldnt pull that trade. smith isnt playing and hammys are known to haggle a player for a long time (a la Joe Horn last year). smith is an elite wr and ronnie brown is good, but in kc they are hurting for offense. LJ still rolled off 160 yds last week with no green and give huard credit for managing the game well. i think herm edwards will continue to utilize LJ as the focal point of that offense this season despite having a depleted o-line and no name receivers. Id stick with LJ.
kbtegp 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Don't know your scoring format, but in all the ones I've seen, LJ is putting up big numbers even though the Chiefs are terrible so far. If they ever get track and he adds a TD per game you'll be kicking yourself. PS: Browns performance will be stunted unless Culpepper gets untracked. As soon as teams realize he cant throw, they'll stack the box and Browns numbers will nosedive. Thanks for mine.
bauman88 0 Posted September 21, 2006 I'd do it, but I like to speculate. I traded Alexander/Mason for Smith/J. Walker and L. Jordan but that was because I have Gore, C. Taylor and D. Williams and RB and WR are weak. I think having 3 top 10 WR will make up for LJ's loss and he'll continue to struggle with KC as a whole DO IT! Ron_Mexico 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Do it now, before he changes his mind.
lucasd2002 0 Posted September 21, 2006 I would do it. R Brown's upside is huge and LJ has peaked. S Smith is worth that gamble IMHO. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=235685
Killer Elite 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Well I pulled the trigger. Thanks for the input!
Ray_T 753 Posted September 21, 2006 you made a good call. that's an excellent deal for you.
philmckracken 3 Posted September 21, 2006 I'd do it. If KC continues to stink, you might get comparable (comparable) production out of Ronnie Brown alone. Throw in Smith (whose injury isn't the season-ending type) and you should come out ahead.
