Can get Tomlinson..but will it kill my depth?

Recommended Posts

my post seemed to dissapear at first luckily I copied it before hand

here it is:

At least, the little depth I do have now

heres the trade:

RB Tatum Bell (he has Mike)

WR Steve Smith

TE Antonio Gates

for

The holy one (maybe he will throw in a guy or 2 i dunno)

My Team now :( (12 team league, Im leaving out my Ks and DEFs):

QB Drew Bledsoe (also have Grossman and Kitna)

RB Tatum Bell

RB/WR Thomas Jones

WR Steve Smith

WR L. Coles

TE A. Gates

Bench (RBs,WRs,TEs)

TE Ben Watson

WR Lee Evans

WR Deion Branch

RB Travis Henry

RB J. Norwood

I tried to trade Henry straight up for Mike Bell, but he wouldn't bite. Then I kinda jokingly mentioned this trade for Tomlinson, but then we both took it more seriously after we both thought about it.

It looks like he'd accept the trade but do you think I should really pull the trigger?

Let me add that I will try to help you out with whatever question you might have and... here is what his team looks like ( he will have one sexy Receiving core if this trade goes  )

QB Tom Brady (has Rivers as well)

RB L. Tomlinson

RB/WR Fred Taylor (or sometimes one of his WRs)

WR Larry Fitzgerald

WR Chris Chambers

TE Dallas Clark

Bench

WR Javon Walker

WR Marques Colston

RB Mike Bell

WR Eric Moulds

TE Marcedes Lewis

WR Reggie Williams

WR Doug Gabriel

I wonder if I could lure him to give me some decent throw ins ( Colston perhaps  and Lewis maybe)

it's hard to say, i think it's a good deal for you since he is done with his bye week and should be good to go the rest of the season. smith is a big loss but you still have evans and coles (and maybe branch). watson should be a good TE and the other guy will have to drop a player or two to make room on his roster so you might end up with someone there too. look for another TE on the waiver (baker, de clark, colston, etc)

i think it's worth it.

No brainer, go for it.

Coles will not last (either him or Pennington will drop production or get hurt), so trade him while he still had value.

LT has already has his bye week, so you'll have a solid RB start for the rest of the season. You can always bottom feed for receivers.

You are trying to lure me away from the trade with what you are saying! :) (im giving up Smith not Coles!)

Wow- I guess i am in the minority here, but I don't think that looks like a very good trade for you. Giving up THE top WR, a top TE, and a rising stud of a RB seems like a lot to give up. If he is planning on throwing in a good receiver I would consider it, but otherwise I think You are giving up too much.

Thanks for the advice you gave on mine, which was here (for anyone else):

I make this trade.

You have got to take LT if he's available. Odds are you will find someone that puts up points comparable to the 'new' Antonio Gates under Philip Rivers. Steve Smith will be a loss, but good lord we're talking about LT here.

Take it man!

I guess Im sort in the minority of my own trade as well a little bit :ninja:

If he would add in Colston to this trade, only then I'd do it, cause I think I'm not 100% comfortable with having Evans or Branch as my only candidates as my #2 WR ( though they have potential to prove me wrong, but I don't wanna rely on just potential  )

I would not pull the trigger unless he was going to give you Walker with LT2, you are taking a big hit in your WR depth, and I think that you are giving up too much overall.

TBell - currently getting RB1 carries

Gates - The only other player Rivers looks at besides LT2

Smith - 7 catches for 112 at about 80%

A lot of quality players there for just one in return.

Im with him. ^^ Only do that trade if you can get a good WR from him like Walker or at least Colston or Moulds. I dont know why he wouldnt throw one of them in, he cant have a need for all of those guys on his bench.
