bobdole118 0 Posted October 6, 2006 Hey, this is my first time in a fantasy football draft and I'm not exactly sure how i should go about improving my league. Heres my team right now: QB- McNabb WR- Santana Moss Greg Jennings Bernard Berrian RB- Clinton Portis Carnell Williams TE- Desmond Clark K- Robbie Gould DEF- Jacksonville BN- D. Mason J. Witten E. Manning D. Carr J. Elam San Diego I was thinking that my Wide Receivers weren't all that great. All of them are pretty shaky and I have no consistent guys. Since I have mcnabb I dont really need both Carr and Eli so I figured I should trade one of them to get a better wide receiver. I doubt Carr would go for anything but what can I expect to get for Eli? There are a few teams in my league that have so-so qbs I might be able to trade with. Like I said, this is my first fantasy football league so I dont really know how trading works. Is it better to try to trade both Eli and maybe Moss for two wide receivers? Or maybe just Eli for a single receiver? If it matters, this is a yahoo public league. Oh, and someone just put Braylon Edwards into waivers, is he worth taking? Thanks alot for your help I'll do my best to help you guys too but like i said, this is my first league and i dunno if you want my advice lol
bobpate17 0 Posted October 6, 2006 Carr is high right now and you have eli and Mcnabb both. try to trade away carr while he is stlil high. I don't think he will perform like this for rest of the season. and I would say try to get WR or RB for Eli as well. YOu have Mcnabb. only time you are going to start Eli is when Mcnabb is on bye. u can take hit for one week if you get good RB for rest of the season. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=241678
benton23 0 Posted October 6, 2006 you should definately move a qb to give your roster another starter. carr doesnt have to much value but both eli and mcnabb have good market value. also you defenses are both solid so you might be able to move a d/st & a wide out for a better WR. cadillac is not a rb you want to have right now so maybe eli & caldillac could get you an upgrade there. look for someone who is cheap that has a easy schedule rest of the year.. but mainly you dont want to have a guy like eli rack up fantasy points while he sits on your bench.. you should definately get a guy who can move into your starting lineup and help you win some games.. gram 0 Posted October 7, 2006 i think you are solid in recievers. wher you need help is rb. my phillosophy is you are only as good as your 3rd rb because of injuries. you have 2 awesome qbs. i would try to trade for another starting rb. if you trade off donavan you could get a solid RB in return. my biggest advice to you is not get to worried. caddy's #s will go back up....if you wanted a more solid wr i would maybe take a chance w/manning but its up to you, but either way i would trade off one of your qbs for a solid rb or wr
bobdole118 0 Posted October 7, 2006 I was actually starting to think the same thing. I have first pick in waivers so im gonna try to grab bralyon edwards. I really doubt Carr will go for much since everyone knows he probably wont do this well in the future. What kind of RB do you think i could get for pairing Carr with one of my WR or just Eli Manning. Here are some of the teams that have so-so QBs Team 1: QBs- Bledsoe, Brunell, Favre RB- Westbrook and Larry Johnson If Farvre does really bad again i might be able to trade for Larry Johnson....maybe... Team 2: QBs- Kitna, Hasslebeck RB- Steve Jackson His QBs are pretty bad...maybe hell take Carr/something or eli for Jackson? Team 3: QBs- B. Johnson, Culpepper RB- Tiki Barber This guy has really really really bad qbs. I coudl probably get tiki from him with Carr and something else. There are a few others i might be able to take with Eli but id rather trade Carr and keep Eli as a backup if mcnabb gets hurt rather than keep carr as the backup. Those guys are the really good RBs, think i have a shot at getting any of them or should i go for others that arent so top tier. Also, if i were to pair up a WR with carr who should it be? I can also grab Braylon Edwards from waivers at any time so keep that in mind. Thanks very much, i really appreciate all your guys's help
mitchm42 0 Posted October 7, 2006 I would go get B. Edwards but I think your team looks pretty good. Don't over think it too much. What is your record?
