throttlers 0 Posted October 11, 2006 I have been offeref Fitz and H.Miller. I give up Heap. This owner is trying hard to move Fitz. He made me several offers, but this is the 1st worht considering. This is a PPR league and Heap has 22 receptions for 180 yards and 3 TD's to Miller's 9 receptions for 168 yards and 1 TD. I would be taking a pretty good drop at TE. However, Pitt could get the passing game going at some point this season and Miller is already past his bye week. Also Heap is injury prone, but he plays through most of them. I don't currently have a back up TE. I think Fitz could be good later in the season. It seams that he may miss a month, but then he would be back to help as we get closer to fantasy playoffs. Leinart is off to a good start and should be playing better by then. My only real concern is that I need to wina few games now! Out of my 3 leagues this is my only poorly performing team. Injuries, byes and inconsistent players have hurt me. This is a 12 team league with one keeper, standard scoring (except we get points for return yardage). I am 1-3-1 which puts me in 9th and I am 6th overall in points scored. 1 or 2 wins could move me up a few spots based on points. The top 4 make the playoffs. I really need to win at least 2 of the next 3. Fortunately I am playing the worst team in the league this week. Do I give up a better starting TE now for Fitz to help me later? My roster: QB - Palmer, Leftwich RB - R.Brown, C.Taylor, McAllister, Jacobs WR - Housh, R.Williams, Branch, Gabriel, M.Jones TE - Heap K - Kasay DEF - Bengals, Colts His roster QB - McNabb, Kitna RB - LJ, Pittman, K.Faulk, C.Morton WR - Holt, Glenn, Fitz, Drummond TE - Miller, McMichael K - Gould DEF - Bears, Vikings
bflodan 0 Posted October 11, 2006 In the situation you are in.... that you need to look more short term than you usually like- I would keep Heap. Heath Miller has only been thrown to 13 times this year. Heap has been targeted over 40 times. Miller has caught 9 baals for 168 yards and a td take away his one big catch and in 4 games played he has 8 catches for 78 yards and 0 tds I love Fitz.....but if you need short term wins in this league to position yourself for the playoffs...t wont help you to get no production from your tight end if you use Miller. drasgear 0 Posted October 11, 2006 I'd stay with what you have as well. Lots of questions around Fitz right now. If he really did tear his hammy, that could very easily affect him all year. Like you said, you have to make it to the playoffs in order to use him anyway. Thanks for mine.
AC/DC Anarchy 0 Posted October 11, 2006 I like it. Miller is of course a downgrade from Heap, but imagine the price of Fitz before the injury, take advantage of the buy low and reap the benefits when Fitz comes back
Chopper60 0 Posted October 11, 2006 I agree with the others...with Fitz hurt (and hammy injuries tend to linger), you won't be getting any kind of return that compares to Heap's production. Thanks for looking at mine.
afs 0 Posted October 11, 2006 I would stay put. Pitt is struggling, and McNair is playing better than Ben. And Hammy's can slow you down longer then they say, so it's not a lock he'll be able to perform like you might want him to! http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=242895
Triumph 0 Posted October 11, 2006 A TE is a TE is a TE. But you don't need a WR and the only thing it gives you is depth at TE. Woopditydooo! Fitz is hurt, You really dont need hamstring questions.
dcg 0 Posted October 11, 2006 I wouldn't do it. Heap is too valuable, and who knows what's goig on w/ fitz. Thanks for mine!
O Face 0 Posted October 11, 2006 As much as I think you need an upgrade at WR, I wouldn't do the deal due to the Fitz injury. There seems to be too much speculation as to how much time he is out. And who knows how long the injury might linger. Heap is a top 3 TE and you will outscore your opponent every week in this position. Thanks for mine.
time to get ill 0 Posted October 12, 2006 Thanks for helping me out. I'm not familiar witha PPR league as I have never been in one. However, I would be suspect of Fitz especially since he is a WR and having a bum hammy. Those injuries tend to linger as the season goes on. Who knows, he could come back have a nice couple of games and go right back out again for a month. I would stay away from Fitz for a while. Good luck!!
