Roster Advice Needed

Recommended Posts

Here is my current roster:

T. Brady QB

D. Bledsoe QB

W. Parker RB

R. Bush RB

D. Rhodes RB

K. Barlow RB

Sa. Moss WR

R. Brown WR

Re. Williams WR

B. Johnson WR

A. Toomer WR

D. Bennett WR

J. Witten TE

J. Carney K

I had to drop the Colts DST to pick up Bryant Johnson (they were on BYE anyway)

My plan is to start Bledsoe (v HOU), Parker (v KC), Bush (v PHI), Moss (v TEN), Brown (v NO), Witten, Carney, and whichever DST I can pick up.

Here are my questions:

1. The Saints, Chiefs and Panthers DST's are all available on waivers. Who do I drop to pick one up and which should I grab?

2. Bennett and Bush are both long-term gambles, Bennett because Vince Young is still getting his feet wet, and Bush because he's splitting carries with Deuce. Do I hold on to them long term or look to parlay them into something else via trades?

3. Do I bother keeping Bledsoe after Brady's BYE this week?

Despite having the third lowest point total in the league, I'm tied for the best record at 4-1 with a guy in my division I've already beaten. I only have five (Brady,Bledsoe,Parker,Rhodes,Bush) of my original 14 drafted players still on my roster, so everything I've done to this point has been from waiver pickups, trades and just playing the matchups. So far it's worked, and I'm tempted to work on some more trades soon, especially with a surplus of receivers like this.

Any advice is welcome and appreciated!

what I would do.

1. panthers DST, they're much more talented than the other two, IMO. I would drop bennett, because that team's passing game is BRUTAL, and i dont see him producing that much.

2. see #1 for Bennett, i dont think Vince Young will put up big passing numbers, not this year at least. I'd hold on to Bush even though he's been sort of a dissapointment. Opposing teams are gearing up on him and you have to believe that with Brees, Colston, Horn and Deuce in that lineup that they would have to focus their attention away from Bush eventually which opens it up for him. He's too big a talent.

3. i'd keep Bledsoe, he will have his occasional 300+, 2-3 td game in that offense, i would play the matchup week to week and start him over Brady if he has a bad matchup and Bledsoe has a favorable one.

thanks for mine.

Ditto

The only other thing i could suggest is maybe packaging Bennett and Bush for a starting RB, like parker, Caddy, Foster, R Brown, perhaps? I guess it depends on the other rosters in your league

Anyway, I would try to make a trade for a RB empty roster spot instead of just dropping bennett for a D

I agree with pretty much everything said above. I always like to try to do a package 2 for 1 rather than drop a guy.

I'd definitely keep bledsoe....he has too many weapons at WR. I don't know that there'd be anyone out there worth more than him on the WW.
