Zap 0 Posted June 25, 2004 I figured this was a good use of our board since it's currently public. It's a promotional item for Mike's main page, interesting for all of us, and I wanted to do it. Any current members or applicants are free to join. It's not going to be easy to fill. I did say that I was only moderating and not participating, but since MacGregor has offerred to keep track, I'll probably do both, if personally drafting fills a needed spot. I'll probably also add an "IDP Tony/Geek Consensus" mocker. If you feel like you cannot show your hand in July to people you're drafting against in September, well... ... don't be silly. The preseason will mean more to our current draft boards than any genius moves you've planned. Furthermore, you could mock along, respectfully, but not necessarily "exactly" like you would in regards to say "close calls." Example, I picked Julius Jones over Kevin Jones in that "close call," but in the mock I may just take Kevin instead. To me that really is a close call and going one way or the other in no way hurts the integrity of the mock. Kevin won the close call anyway. As the mock is running, I'd appreciate no new threads, but feel free to post in the round by round commentary "anything" that's on your mind regarding the league, the mock, politics, religion, or whatever. There's no pressure to join, but I would appreciate some of you doing so. Remember I have control of the real draft order and can actually edit your teams. Zap 0 Posted June 27, 2004 Oh, and volunteering to mock didn't move you up in the order. Zman was the fourth to respond and you were the fifth. The other three got out of line for various reasons. This mock probably isn't going to happen anyway. Which is funny. Three years ago here, I couldn't respond fast enough to get in any "official" mocks. Now interest has waned. Oh well. I've been dying to get in a mock and now it might not happen Oh well, I'm sure there will be alot more interest about mid July, thats usually when the part timers come out of their caves. I'll be setting up the board for the mock the night before, very late, if I have the energy after a very long drive.
