Brown Growler 0 Posted October 20, 2006 What do you think of this deal? I give up Westy, T. Gonzo, and Cotchery for Boldin and Gates. This woiuld leave my roster like this in our Dynasty, No PPR league. QB - Brady, (Grossman) RB - LT2, T.Bell, (M.Barber) WR - C.Johnson, D.Jackson, A.Boldin, (D.Gabriel) TE - A.Gates K - J.Wilkins DST - Patriots, (Colts) I think it helps, but Westy is number 2 in scoring for rb's right now and I am not sure i am getting enough for him. What do you think? Leave one....
whahaa 0 Posted October 20, 2006 i like that trade, especially since it's a dynasty league. with tatum bell, you still got good RB situation even without westy.
JediMaster 20 Posted October 20, 2006 Actually I would NOT do that. Giving up Westy would be BIG, TE's have all been the same and switching Gonzo for Gates isn't much of an upgrade plus you are pretty good at WR already with Johnson and Johnson. Stay the way you are or work on a trade that does NOT include Westy OR get more for him. HTH Thanks For Mine
Darb33 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Well were this a re-draft I think I would say no, but being a dynasty I think I would do it. In a dynasty Boldin is a top 5 WR and Gates is the #1 TE. Westy is a great player, but with this knee issue who knows how long it will last? Will it get better or only get worse with age? More than likely things will only get worse down the road. In a dynasty I think I would do it.
andhraangel 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Hmmm, I'd see if maybe you can tease a little bit more out for this trade. But I think it's not bad right now, especially if its not a PPR league. Westy is far more valuable in PPR, and Boldin/Gates are dynasty gold.
Saosin 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Look at it in perspective. You're trading a WR for a WR. Cotchery, a possible No. 3 WR, for Boldin a possible No. 1 WR with Fitz on the injury cart. Gonzo has done nothing this season and Gates is re-emerging as the reigns come off of Rivers. So again, a lower-end TE for a eventual #1 TE. The deal breaker is Westbrook, as you are definitely making out on top if you consider the first two players respectively. Westbrook could have a nice Red Cross next to his name for the rest of the season, and although he may put up monster numbers from time to time, I personally would not want to deal with the headache of waiting for a gametime decision, and then debating whether he's really going to play or they'll rest him if he so much as stumbles wrong. Westbrook is the new Fragile Fred of FF - great numbers, with great risk. He may win you a game by himself. But he may lose you one as well. That being said, I'd do it. Maybe move Bell later in the year and get a more reliable back.
