Weekly WR #2 dilemma - will reply to yours

Recommended Posts

Driver is my #1 WR, weekly start, never any doubts unless he's hurt.

As for my #2 - its always a head-scratcher...

This week, here's the quandry -

Muhammad vs a weak Vikes pass DEF (but also deferring to Berrian, and Rex throwing to him)

Galloway vs a suspect Steelers pass DEF (and Gradkowski can miss him with each attempt)

Caldwell vs a weak Lions pass DEF, and he's now Brady's #1

At least Caldwell has the best QB of the bunch throwing to him, but the usual Pats OFF can mean 10 different guys scoring or getting 40 yards each or something like that...even though Brady is targeting him more.

Comments welcome. Will answer yours

Thats a really close race for your #2 WR!!! I would pick Caldwell this weak at home against Detroit.

As a HUGE Lions fan, I hate to say but Caldwell is your best choice. They let Joey Harrington pick them apart and made Marty Booker look like Jerry Rice. Brady will have a field day and Caldwell seems to be his guy (outside the TEs).

Thanks for answering mine.

Reche caldwell is a possibility but Tom Brady doesn't have a "go-to" guy. If anyone is his go-to, it's Ben Watson, but he spreads the ball around more than any QB in the league. So it will be hit or miss with Caldwell. Personally, I would go with Mushie, because Grossman has just come off a bad game, and will most likely protect the ball a little more. Since Muhsie is their possession receiver, I'm betting on more short routes to him and Desmond Clark, and looking long for Berrian occassionally, hopefully not too often though.

Well I feel that I've rulled Galloway out after rooting through enough fantasy advice web sites.

But I am really still struggling with either Mush or Caldwell.

ESPN's write-up basically has them as decent #3 WR plays, but I have to use them as a #2.

The Pats are sooo unpredictable on offense...I keep hearing guys giving thumbs down to playing matchups like everyone who played Charlie Frye vs the Bengals two weeks ago ... and got screwed.

and I can see the Vikes maybe turning in an inspired effort, like the Fish did in Chicago...it could happen... Chester Taylor could make like Ronnie Brown...

Any more angles on this one from anybody? Weather good in each site?

I would say get a piecs of paper and pencil and graph each players pt totals the last 5 weeks or so. If Mush will total 900-1000 yds this year, simply take his ydge, his pt totals, then see if it makes sense that he will have a 10+pt game this week. I have done this with wr's and td's before. A wr has gone three weeks w/out a td, and averages 10 or so a season means that he will have to eventulayy score. I think all three are good choices. Ask yourself who has the best chance of 80 yds and a touch?(galloway) Who is the safest bet at 60 yds and maybe a td?(mush)....who has the best chance at 3-39 yds(mush/caldwell)Soo....

I say galloway. Anyone else like this logic?
