hagler 0 Posted August 2, 2007 'm trying to determine how to value a WR vs. RB I'm taking a RB first Rd. and taking a Tier 1 WR (CJ, SS, TO, Harrison) Our League runs a 3rd Rd Reverse---------so at the #8 pick, I get the 5th pick in the 3rd Rd. (3.05) I'm looking at the following: WR - Fitz, Roy Williams and any Tier 2 WR (AJ, Moss, Evans....) RB - Maybe C.Benson, Maybe Jacobs, A.Peterson, Lynch, Barber...... If a Tier 1 WR is there in the 3rd, do I take him or try to grab a #2 RB now... If I wait until the 4th Rd to grab a #2 RB, I'm looking at: Lynch, maybe A.Peterson, A.Green, Caddy, J.Lewis Basically, which looks better: TEAM 1: Tier 2 RB - Parker / Westbrook / Rudi Tier 1 WR - TO / Harrison / Smith Tier 1 WR - Fitz / R.Williams Tier 4 RB (top Tier 4) - Lynch, A.Green, Caddy, J.Lewis TEAM 2: Tier 2 RB - Parker / Westbrook / Rudi Tier 1 WR - TO / Harrison / Smith Tier 3 RB (lower Tier 3) - Benson?, Jacobs, A.Peterson Tier 2 WR - L.Evans, Colston, Moss, AJ, Driver I can't predict who will be there, but this looks like the dilemma I'll be facing? Please help-------advice is appreciated
Gepetto 988 Posted August 2, 2007 I like Team 2 option better, you just have to worry that all of the top 15-17 wide receivers are gone by the time you pick in the 4th round - if that is the approach you take and if all those top wide receivers are gone, you need to be prepared to adjust your draft strategy to just take the best RB (it will be your 3rd RB though) or a top QB if available. Of course, if you decide to go with the other option of RB, WR, WR, RB - then the RBs you are targeting could be gone in the 4th but I think there are running backs that normally go in the late 4th and in the 5th round that will be available at 4.08. I don't know if that response helps you at all. I guess to me it depends on the players available at the time you pick, but I think both are very good strategies for your first 4 picks. endodoug 0 Posted August 2, 2007 i think a lot depends on your league scoring take the tier 1 WR if hes there then take your #2RB later. IMO these guys (Tier 4 RB (top Tier 4) - Lynch, A.Green, Caddy, J.Lewis) are pretty solid and reliable, but these (Tier 3 RB (lower Tier 3) - Benson?, Jacobs, A.Peterson) all are a little risky. You're getting better value with the tier 1 WR.
biggtyme13 0 Posted August 2, 2007 There is a secret club Known as the We Know Driver is a Tier 1 WR club, Were the ones who take him low 3 or 4th round and laugh as he produces. Him and Favre have a connection and when hes throwing 60 times a game 20 plus of those are usually drivers way
