throttlers 0 Posted September 19, 2007 This is my primary league. I have always done well in this league and won it 2 years ago. Now I am 0-2. I took Bush in the 1st round and Jacobs in the 4th. Ouch! Week 1 I decided last minute to play Cutler over Big Ben, and it cost me the game by a few points. Week 2 I replaced Jacobs in my lineup with Brown. I got spanked. Do I need to sit tight with this team and wait it out or start making changes? I put Brown on the block after week 1, but got no offers I am thinking of trying to move Benson coming off a good week. Maybe I can package him with another player for a little bit better RB2. This is pretty standard scoring with all TD's 6pts and 0.5ppr. We start 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 2 RB/WR, 1 K, 1 DST My Team: QB - Big Ben, Cutler RB - Bush, Benson, Jacobs, Foster, Williams, Brown, Turner WR - Housh, Branch, Welker, Henderson K - Gostkowski DST - Packers What should I do? vicksdawgs 0 Posted September 19, 2007 Your decent at QB and on good weeks good on WRs. I would try to package Cutler with Benson and Jacobs for a true RB1; especially with all of them having down starts. It's possible to get SJax, LJ or even LT in some leagues if the owner is gripping. You can also interchange WIlliams or Brown or even Bush. Bottom line is this; your team could be awesome if you got two lock RBs that will produce every week and you should be left with a decent RB for bad match ups and bye week. I think if best try to keep Williams and Bush and add another great RB1 to the picture and your solid but there is many ways this could go. Look for guys weak in QB, disappointed with their RBs. throttlers 0 Posted September 19, 2007 Geez. I am answering almost every post, especially those who say they will help in return and I get one reply. Well, thanks vicksdawgs.
SirJiggabins 0 Posted September 19, 2007 I think you're good at QB and at WR. I won't comment on your kicker and D as those are interchangeable and more about weekly matchups. I have to believe that one the Carolina RBs will emerge as the main option so I would hold onto both until you know who that is. Jacobs will be back at some point and again be the featured back in NY. To me, I think Bush is your best trade bait, but I'm one of those people that thinks Bush is overrated for the NFL. If you can get another #1 RB for by packaging Bush with some other players, maybe welker (who has value) then go for it. It's so hard to advice somebody to make a trade because it all depends on the specifics of the trade itself. I also would need to know who is available on waivers in your league, and not just at the RB spot. Right now though, I think you need to show a little patience. It's too early to panic. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Thanks for responding to mine though.
sta 5 Posted September 19, 2007 Geez. I am answering almost every post, especially those who say they will help in return and I get one reply. Well, thanks vicksdawgs. I would try to get another #1 RB by tradeing one your RB and WR. I feel your pain with Bush he was my #1 pick. You would not be to bad just by sitting still for awhile either. Thanks for mine. The Train 0 Posted September 19, 2007 Thanks for mine. As far as trading goes, I like to look for someone in the league who is desperate for something. Maybe a QB or WR, since you've got some talent there. Then package one of those with the two RBs you don't care about/need and get what you really do need: a stud at RB. I have Bush, but I also have Alexander to back him up. You could use someone to give you a solid chunk of points each week in the RB position. It would be even more ideal if the person who is desperate for a QB/WR also has LT. Like someone else said, it is very possible to get him in some leagues. If your league is very competitive, chances are no one will ever part with the big man. But in a less-than-competitive league you can probably find someone who doesn't look part the two bad weeks. hooflungpoo 0 Posted September 19, 2007 i would package big ben with benson or jacobs to get a better rb. pitt plays some tough def in the next few games, and could really show his true colors.
BLT 0 Posted September 19, 2007 Stand pat your solid where it counts, I mean if you can pull off a block buster deal for one of the top 3 rb's that have started of slow, than by all means do it. But, I think your fortunes will turn if you play your matchups solid, Jacobs will be healthy soon & Bush will come out of his slump. 2 weeks does not a season make, in fantasy land.
