Derek Anderson

Why do I continue to start busters like McNabb or Young each week while this guy continues to put up consistently good fantasy numbers? When will I learn?

and I got Browns fans at work that still want Brady Quinn in there

I am like....you do realize you are in the playoff hunt....it's just Cleveland's fans mind set to have given up at this point in the season already

To top ot off I own Braylon too. I would have had a monster game if I had started Anderson.

dropped VY and picked up Anderson last week (the league dingbat dropped him, he had Palmer and wanted to pick up Stallworthless??????) Started him, and needless to say, I came a little in my pants when i found out he ALSO ran one in. :pointstosky:

I picked him up as a FA after week 3 and have started him since then. I have won 3 straight with D. Anderson (4 straight all together) after starting 0-2.

I wonder.....is Derek Anderson like Jake Delhomme?

The only thing that made Delhomme a good fantasy QB was the fact he had chemistry with, and was throwing to, Steve Smith. Braylon Edwards is a bona fide stud now, so is the Cleveland passing game just "chunk it to Braylon"? I mean, is Derek actually good?

I also forgot he has the Soljah too - so he has two stud targets.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if he's actually good or just a gunslinger with good receivers. Cleveland homers?

I started Anderson, Braylon, AND Jason Wright. They accounted for EIGHT TDs (gotta love the QB/WR 'double-dips') for my soon-to-be 2-4 team.

I'm going to miss them in Week 7 (when I play 'The Brady Team') :wall: :D

Marion Barber isn't good enough?

Even so if the Browns did not win a game the rest of the season, they still would not have the first pick. The Rams and Dolphins may not win a game, unless they play each other.

This situation reminds me of the Bengals a few years back when Kitna was having a great season and Palmer was n the bench. This is ideal for the Browns and fantasy owners alike. As long as Anderson is not losing games for the Browns, he'll stay the starter. And keep in mind that he may be auditioning for a job with a new team next year, so he has every reason to keep playing at a high level.

This is a bit of a digression, but it's often forgotten that Steve Smith missed all of the 2004 season, which was, in many ways Delhomme's best statistical year. During that season, Muhsin Muhammad had his "breakout" season, the fantasy football elite declared him one of the top 5 receivers in the game, and then he returned to mediocrity.

Smith is, without a doubt, an excellent receiver, but he has also benefited from Delhomme's tendency to rely heavily on his first option, no matter who the receiver is.

Aaaah....thanks for the info (I've only been playing FF for a couple of years).

Nobody in one of my leagues believes in him (me included). I'm picking him up this week. I mean, he's been a top 10 guy for 4 weeks now and nobody's picked him up! Too many still believe in Brees and Bulger....
