Need to acquire a RB - Who To Offer? (WHIR - Please post link))

Recommended Posts

So I'm a Larry Johnson owner that has very little RB depth. It was fine as long as I had no injuries but the worst finally happened and I am staring down the possibility of playing a player each week that is not even a starter. So I'm looking to acquire one of the following from an owner:

Brandon Jacobs

Clinton Portis

Steven Jackson

I tried to trade Roy Williams and then Joey Galloway straight up for Jacobs (which I expected not to succeed) and it was rejected. He tried to trade me Ryan Grant but stated any of the three above RBs would require two WRs. My WRs are:

Housh, Roy Williams, Galloway, Jennings, Lee Evans

So basically my question is which RB I should target (I've been thinking Jacobs), and which two WRs to offer? Housh is obviously not up for trade, but any of the other four are. I don't really know who is the best going forward. The one I feel most likely to drop off is Evans because it's anyone's guess whether or not Losman will be QB from week to week, and if JP is not the QB, then Lee Evans' value drops significantly. But he'd be a stud if JP does start. Galloway looks like he's heating up, Jennings is a deep threat, and Williams, I don't know what to think about him right now. I badly need to acquire someone and this really is my only shot because if I do a two for one, I won't have enough WRs to try again. Should I stand pat with my stable or should I take a shot? Thanks in advance.

I think Jacobs is the choice for Galloway and someone else, maybe R. Williams. He's definitely solid but has the toughest schedule coming up and has a lot of competition for passes. Good luck and thanks.

Yup, I agree -- Brandon Jacobs would be my target, and if he is gonna make you give up 2 WRs (which I'm not sure you should -- you have really nice WRs....its good to trade from Depth, but don't trade BECAUSE you have depth. There is a bit of a difference.) I guess I would do Galloway and Jennings.

I like Jacobs the best. R Williams has disappeared (don't know why) but he's one of four WRs on that team that tends to split targets. I saw a report that Losman will be the starter the rest of the way if he plays well (won't lose the job just because Edwards gets healhty). Anyway, I think I would package RW and either Galloway or Jennings. Good luck!

I agree Jacobs is the guy to target. I'd package Galloway and Jennings if you can. I think Williams is going to 're-appear' in a big way.
