GFIAP: Can you tell me how much this is? I'm not sure I want it. Cashier: Where did you get it from? GFIAP: That table Cashier: (swipes it ... $4.99 ... whips out calculator) GFIAP: If it's $2.50 ... I'll take it. Cashier: Rings up another 50 cents ... clears it out. Still fuddling with the calculator ... GFIAP: If it's 50% off that's $2.50 (I have conceded the half cent at this point). Cashier: Oh yeah ... huh? AND ... not in a sarchatic way .... like she realized that she didn't need the calculator .... half of five is 2.5 .... a line is forming behind me at this point.
