pauld1977 0 Posted May 24, 2008 Just looking to see if you think this deal is going to help or hurt my team for this coming season. Standard scoring, 14 team league, Non-PPR. We can keep 7-10 players a year. Keep 7 and you get a 1st round pick. Keep 8 and you lose your 1st etc. Start QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 Flex...no mandatory TE, they are lumped in with the WRs Here is my roster QB: Leinart, Schaub - have to decide which one to keep by August RB: Maroney, Turner, Graham, Bradshaw, Michael Bush WR: Evans, Holmes, Stallworth, Galloway The guys in bold are the ones I'm keeping for sure. Plus a QB, then I'll have to decide between Bradshaw, Bush, Stallworth and Galloway. I have the 2nd overall pick and 8th overall pick in the first round. The deal I'm looking at is: I give: Maroney, 1.08, Lee Evans I get: 1.03 and Anquan Boldin The way I see it is maroney and 1.03 will equal out over the long haul. I prefer the consistency of Boldin over Evans, although I know Evans does have upside to him. Thoughts?
MTSkiBum 1,620 Posted May 24, 2008 If you do the trade you get to keep bradshaw or an extra QB as well. I like the trade for you.

Not sure whether it would be Bradshaw or a QB or a WR because at 2 and 3 I will be taking RBs so that will leave me short handed at WR...won't pick again till the end of the 2nd round

But i dont like him more than bradshaw.

Evans will be out of Buffalo in 2009... he'll become a star when he gets out of that hole... NE will lean on Maroney a little more next year for sure.... P.S. - Keep Schaub over Leinart as well... he'll be a top 12 guy for sure... GL
ratbastard1 0 Posted May 24, 2008 Maroney and a second tier rook RB For a big 3 RB and Bradshaw The WRs are a wash I like the idea of getting that pick and hedging your gamble on pick 2. Keeping Bradshaw is also a no brainer. But, and there's always a but, you are giving up Maroney and getting a rook thats hopefully, well, Maroney. That pick and Bradshaw still isn't Maroney. He's a definate starter on a strong offense. Tough one. I'd say do it but for points this year you might lose. Trade value not withstanding I don't like the deal. You are trading possibly your best RB and possibly your only RB that has potential of being a #1 fantasy RB. Turner and Graham together aint going to get it done. Good Luck
MTSkiBum 1,620 Posted May 24, 2008 Maroney and a second tier rook RBFor a big 3 RB and Bradshaw He doesnt have to choose a rook, and while he does downgrade in keeper quality, i believe he makes up for it in his first round draft pick. Maybe/maybe not though, if it was my league i would have too look at everyones keepers and compare who i would take at the 8 spot compared to the 3 sopt. the_risen_demon 0 Posted May 24, 2008 I like the move. Whoever you can get at 1.08 is a crapshoot, but I think a top rookie RB balances the loss of Maroney and I feel Boldin is an upgrade over Evans. If Evan leaves after this year, it may actually hurt him. He's always been the focus of the passing attack in Buffalo (at least since the glory days of Eric Moulds), and another offense might not be as favorable. Boldin seems like the more complete receiver and I think he'll be successful, regardless of where he finds himself long term. Opening up a roster position in a keeper league is always a plus as well. pauld1977 0 Posted May 24, 2008 based on what you just said, maroney = 1.03 and boldin ~ evans... so you're giving up 1.08 for nothing? No, I do feel that Boldin is an upgrade over Evans. I think 1.08 closes that gap. In our draft there is not much of a guarantee at 1.08. I would say this year, past the 1.05 pick I don't really like all that much. Some guys in our league will opt to keep 8 or 9 players and forfit their first 2 round picks. Thanks for the feedback guys. To answer some of the questions or respond to some of the comments. IMO Turner will do well in ATL, Graham will be a good one year stop gap until the rookies get fully on track. We'll see, I have a feeling he'll decline it anyways.
