16 team league

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever been in a 16 team league. What are your thoughts on drafting in this type of league. By the end of the 1st round, most of the time 2-3 QBs and 2-3 WRs are gone. We dont find out our draft order until the day of the draft. i know if i get one of the 1st 6 picks i will go RB. after that it depends where i draft. most people in the draft do not go rb/rb because you will have nothing in the 3-4 rounds as a top tier qb or wr. just wanted to know your guys opinions in this type of draft. thanks!!!

Here's how I would save 1 pick for sure.

Completely punt your Wr2. Meaning, don't address it until late in the draft. Hope to get lucky there on the waivers, etc. Reason is, there are always those no-name wr's who come out of no-where to be decent starters. They're easier to find than good Rb's.

Spend the majority of your highest picks on Rb's, Wr1, and a good Qb.

Depending on how it goes, I would be looking for Top Rb, Stud Wr1, and prolly Qb or Rb2 with my first 3 picks.

That is a good strategy that i do try to do. but by the 3rd round when i have a rb and a wr, no good qbs are left, so i end up taking another rb and wr in rounds 3 and 4 and get a not so good qb. i think i need to go qb early this year becaause there wil be at least 8-9 gone by the end of the 2nd round

Every single round, grab a safe, value choice, regardless of position. In a 16 teamer, you will absolutely have several holes in your starting lineup. Draft as many studs as possible, positions be damned.
