Week 1 - Choices

Recommended Posts

. . . Drew Brees? :o

I drafted Warner in the last round figuring he would supplant Leinart as the starter at some point. It was just late round speculation since I had already drafted Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers earlier. Just didn't want a potential QB1 sitting there as a free agent for someone else to sign.

Anyway, that now leaves me with an interesting decision for Week 1.

Scoring System

30 yards passing = 1 point

10 yards rushing = 1 point

10 yards receiving = 1 point

All TD's = 6 points

INT = Minus 2 points

Fumble = Minus 2 points

QB - Need 1

Drew Brees (vs TB) - Tough defense in a divisional matchup

Kurt Warner (at SF) - He lit them up for 484 yards and 2 TD's in a single game last year

Aaron Rodgers (vs MIN) - Not really being considered

RB - Need 1

Jamal Lewis (vs DAL) - Nursing hammy injury... will watch weekly practice/injury reports

Earnest Graham (at NO) - He did well against them last year... full workload this year?

Lendale White (vs JAX) - Very tough matchup... may split carries

WR - Need 1

Kellen Winslow (vs DAL) - Touch matchup... Derek Anderson status unknown

Nate Burleson (at BUF) - Last WR standing in Seattle... faces Clements on the road

Santana Moss (at NYG on Thursday) - Don't like the short week preparation or his QB performance

Thanks in advance for your thoughts. Please leave a link and I'll try to help you out too.

I think Brees Will play well...If the weather is any indication they might be getting a pretty hefty chip on their shoulder come sunday (They seem to do well when playing at home also)

Id go with Lewis or Graham ...JAX plays great run D...

Wr...man its a coin flip..sorry i couldn't be more help

I'd go Brees/Graham/Winslow.

I love Warner, but to me, Brees is pretty much a must-start every week.

I don't think Cleveland's D will be able to contain Dallas, and they'll likely be playing catch-up, hence me picking Winslow and not Lewis.

thanks for hitting mine... I'd go:

Warner: (I like Brees, but don't expect high scoring game with TB)

Graham: Heavy workload and ok matchup

Winslow: CLE will have to score plenty

I'd have to go with Warner. He has the most upside. Brees if you want to play it safe.

E. Graham is the best choice at RB. NO def is weak IMO.

TE usually do well aginst DAL. K. Winslow is the way to go.

Breeze started very slow last year, Warner has two of the best recivers in the league. I'm starting Warner over Cutler.

That said. I'd still start Breeze :first:

Not much help I know
