Preseason Power Rankings

Recommended Posts

1) TyCobb's Razor Spikes (Owner - TyCobb)

QB: Brooks, McNair, Redman

RB: Williams, McAllister, Garner/Wheatley

WR: OWens, R. Smith, Terrell, Scott, Patten, Kennison

TE: Pollard, Johnson

PK: Vanderjagt, ??

TM: Cleveland, Cincinnatti

This team is strong at every position. Brooks had a great season FFwise last year and looks to continue. As long as McAllister lives up to his billing this team will be the favorite to take the title. Depth at WR is a little bit of a concern at this point, but the 1 and 2 spots will carry him here. Pollard should be strong again this year with Dilger's exit.

2) 420 In Progress (Owner - DrJ)

QB: McNabb, Brady, Pennington

RB: Edge/Rhodes, Taylor, Fu/Zereoue

WR: Moss, McCardell, M Robinson, Taylor, Graham

TE: Gonzo

PK: Nedney, Lindell

TM: Chicago

This team is also strong at every position. McNabb became one of the best players in the league last year and is also an excellent fantasy producer in this system. With a healthy Fred Taylor, this team is tough to compete against. Moss, McCardell, and Robinson/Taylor/Graham make up a good WR squad. All world TE Gonzo provides added punch from the TE position.

3) Buffalo Xtreme (Owner - Buffalo Xtreme GM)

QB: Garcia, R. Johnson, K. Graham

RB: Dillon, Davis, Hicks, Bryson

WR: Boston, Rice, Toomer, Dyson, Finneran, Pathon, Minnis

TE: Brady, Riemersma

PK: Wilkins, Peterson

TM: San Diego, Washington

Another team that is strong at every position and is tough to compete against week in and week out. Garcia is one of the top QB's in FF. Dillon and Davis make up a very good RB squad. Boston, Rice, Toomer is a very good WR squad that will get points for this team week in and week out. Riemersma and Brady are adequate at TE.

4) East Alabama 2 Irons (Owner - Chipshot)

QB: K. Stewart, B. Johnson, K. Collins, J. Miller

RB: P. Holmes, E. George, T. Barber, M. Anderson

WR: Mason, Booker, D. Jackson, Thrash

TE: B. Franks, S. Alexander

PK: Hollis, Dawson

TM: Baltimore, Oakland

The champs getting no respect? This team is very good and has solid depth at every position. At QB, K. Stewart had a solid year last year and there is a lot of depth to back him up. A very solid group of RB's is the strength of this squad. At WR, the stud power of last year is gone but there is still a solid group there. Franks at TE was a nice addition for a team that really struggled last year. This is a resiliant squad that can definitely stay in the hunt through some injuries but I don't believe they can compete with the top teams if they are firing on all cylinders.

5) The Steiner Brigade (Owner - Turin)

QB: Culpepper, Weinke

RB: A. Green, A. Smith, T. Jones, Alstott.

WR: Keyshawn Johnson, P. Burress, H. Ward, R. Proehl, J. Reed

TE: D. Graham, Carswell, Dudley

PK: Christie, Hall

TM: Atlanta, Seattle

This is a team that made great strides last year and could be ready for a jump into title contention. Culpepper is back, he's a monster. A. Green and A. Smith make up a very good 1-2 punch and T. Jones has the job to lose this year. Keyshawn should score more TD's this season and Plaxico looks ready to make the next step as well. Hines Ward is steady. Overall a very good squad which should be better than last year. At TE Graham is a big improvement - this team really struggled there. This team could definitely make some noise.

6) Stick (Owner - Stick)

QB: Gannon, McCown, Odonnell

RB: Faulk, J. Lewis, Hearst

WR: Harrison, Gadsden, T. Wilkins

TE: Dilger, Hardy

PK: Carnay, Holmes

TM: NY Jets, Carolina

The loss of Carter really hurt this team but still has enough juice to be a contender. Gannon is a solid QB. Faulk, Lewis, Hearst make up a very quality RB squad. Harrison is still a stud at WR but after that it is thin and this could really haunt this team. Gadsden will score a few points and Wilkins can put up a few as the new Az Hakim of St. Louis. A lot of load will fall on Harrison though. Dilger is now in Tampa and should be a steady producer from the TE position. With Faulk, Harrison, and Gannon this team can still put up a load of points on any given week but the team could be plagued by inconsistency due to the weak WR's.

7) Panty Pilferers (Owner - Steve)

QB: Manning, Flutie, Matthews, Hasselbeck

RB: LT2, Staley

WR: Moulds, T. Brown, Chambers, Mush, Schroeder, Connell, J. Walker

TE: Wycheck, Cleeland

PK: Stover, Longwell

TM: Green Bay, Tennessee

This team has some quality players and can definitely put up some points on any given week. Manning is a stud. LT2 is a good 1 back but Staley looked like he may have lost some explosiveness last year. If he improves and they don't bring anyone in he could really surprise, but right now the #2 RB spot is a real concern for this team. Moulds should definitely improve with Bledsoe and the WR squad should be very solid this season. Wycheck still keeps producing at TE. Overall this is a very quality team that should definitely make the playoffs again and could once again make some noise there.

8) Tank's Metal Militia (Owner - Fantasyfan)

QB: Favre, Q. Carter, Brees, Chandler

RB: W. Green, J. Stewart, E. Smith, R. Dayne

WR: Holt, Glenn, Q. Ismail, Pinkston, Ferguson

TE: F. Jones, D. Moore

PK: M. Gramatica, D. Akers

TM: Miami, NY Giants

The worst team in the league last year looks primed to make the playoffs this year. Favre is a very good QB. The RB's should be solid with some depth. The WR's are very strong with Holt and Glenn at 1-2 and Ismail should be very good #3 in Indy. Jones had an off year last year but I expect him to bounce back and be a solid producer at the TE position. The team isn't quite ready for contention unless W. Green lights it up, but it should definitely make a strong push for the playoffs.

9) Scorpion's Sting (Owner - Scorpion)

QB: Brunnell, Plummer, Carr

RB: S Alexander, M. Bennett, D. Foster/L.Smith, Duckett, J. White

WR: Galloway, Warrick, S. Morris, Sanders/Jenkins, D. Hayes, Jeffers

TE: Conwell, D. Clark

PK: Janikowski

TM: New England, San Fransisco

This team has a strong set of RB's that could carry it to playoff contention. QB is adequate with Brunnell and Plummer, Carr will be a player down the line here. RB is very solid and deep. Alexander is a stud. A #2 RB should arise out of Foster, Bennett, and Duckett and there will be quite a bit of depth as well. WR is a weak area - Warrick HAS to step up this year. Galloway is more of a #2 WR but will get some points here. Warrick will make an alright #2. Morris, Sanders, and Jenkins will all fight for the 3 spot. TE is also weak now with the trade of Pollard. The RB's are strong enough to get this team some wins though and maybe even carry them to the playoffs.

10) Hell Monkeys (Owner - Hoffdaddy)

QB: Griese, Couch, Frerotte

RB: Bettis, J. Anderson, L. Jordan

WR: Horn, Brown, Alexander, Morton, Bradford, A. Bryant

TE: Chaimberlain, Walls, Stevens, Crumpler

PK: Vinatieri, D. Brien

TM: Philadelphia

This is a solid team that lacks a 2nd RB. QB is solid with Griese and Couch. Bettis is an OK #1 and solid #2 - currently that's all this team has. If Jamal Anderson lands in a good situation it will really help. WR is very solid and there is a LOT of depth there. The #4 WR could be a #2 on most teams. TE is also very solid and deep. This team could go far with another solid RB.

11) The Posse (Owner - Broncosfan)

QB: Bledsoe, vick, Testaverde, Harrington

RB: C. Martin, R. Watters, S. Mack, J. Wells, L. Centers

WR: I. Bruce, E. McCaffrey, A. Freeman, A. Lelie, P. Price, W. Jackson, S. Moss, C. Johnson

TE: Sharpe, Shockey

PK: Elam, Conway, Chandler

TM: Indianapolis, Tampa

Another solid team that currently lacks a #2 RB. QB is solid and deep with Bledsoe, Vick, and Testaverde and Harrigton down the line. Martin is a solid #1 but this team lacks a #2 RB currently. WR is decent with Bruce, McCaffrey/Lelie, Freeman, Price, and Jackson. TE is excellent with Sharpe and Schockey. This team needs a #2 RB to make a playoff run but has enough depth elsewhere to work with to get it.

12) Springfield Isotopes (Owner - Topes)

QB: T. Green, S. King, C. Hutchinson

RB: Pittman, Henry, Portis

WR: KJ2, C. Conway, L. Coles, R. Gardner, Gaffney

TE: T. Heap, Boo Williams

PK: Feely

TM: Denver, Dallas

This team is very average everywhere. Trent Green is a decent starter, but the squad lacks depth. Pittman and Henry combine to make a very average RB squad. Portis is stuck in Denver RB hell. WR is decent with KJ2, Conway, Coles, Gardner, and Gaffney but a true stud is lacking. TE is very good with Heap and Williams. Overall this team is very average and will have a tough time making the playoffs unless someone really steps up.

13) Buddyryeguy (Owner - Buddyryeguy)

QB: Warner, Blake, McMahon, Ramsey

RB: Dunn, K. Barlow, JR Redmond, Brookins, Bennett

WR: J. Smith, K. Robinson, D. Stallworth, F. Mitchell, Crowell, D. White, T. Dwight, Jurevicious

TE: C. Lewis, A. Becht

PK: J. Cortez, K. Brown

TM: Pittsburgh, Jacksonville

There is some talent here, but not enough to field an entire starting lineup. Warner is the best - can't argue there. Blake, McMahon, and Ramsey provide good depth. Dunn is still in RBBC as is Barlow. Not a very good 1-2 punch and there is little depth beyond that. There is a lot of talent at WR but they are still a little bit aways from being productive outside of Jimmy Smith. TE is solid with C. Lewis and Becht. This squad has some potential down the line, but will have a tough time again this season.

14) New York Titty-Twisters (Owner - Filtzy)

QB: Fiedler, Dilfer, Batch

RB: A. Thomas, J. Allen, T. Davis, T. Biakabatuka

WR: M Westbrook, I. HIlliard, A. Hakim, Chrebet, R. Ismail

TE: R. Williams/Jolley, Sloan

PK: Mare, Edinger

TM: St. Louis

There is some talent here as well, but not enough to field a group of starters. Fiedler is a decent starter, Dilfer is a decent backup. Thomas is a very good #1, James Allen and TD will fight for the #2 though making this an average group. Some talent at WR but not a ton of production lately. TE is very average. This team needs a lot of pieces to fall into place to be a solid team.

Who is this E. Williams cat you speak of..?

Average, yes. :(

Will somebody step up? They'd better!

I've got a six-game losing streak I'd like to wipe out here!

Good job of 'distilling' my team there...

Cuz them players is about what it all boils down to.

If this were redraft, folk would be asking where the first-rounder is. And the second-rounder. And the third-rounder.

Looked up some ADP Values at AntSports and came up with the following:

3.11 Michael Pittman

4.05 Travis Henry

4.08 Kevin Johnson

5.12 Trent Green

6.03 Curtis Conway

6.04 Laveranues Coles

6.13 Rod Gardner

;) :rolleyes:That's all the talent I have on board from a 7.5 round 14-team redraft.

I'm firmly in the running for the Lee Suggs bowl!

Also am rooting for the following teams to suck, as I own some of their picks:

TyCobb (1), Stick (2), FantasyFan (3), Hoffdaddy (3)

It's so close between the two squads and it will be the #2 RB position that will separate the two IMO. A healthy Taylor puts me over the top unless Deuce has a terrific season. Then there's always Buffalo who is powerful again... That being said, neither of us will win the title, because the best team in the league has yet to win it in any year.

Agreed. But I feel pretty comfortable with my RB situation having the Garner/Wheatley tandem as my #3. They will be invaluable on bye weeks and if Duece stumbles a bit to start the season.

I hope your club and mine avoid injuries the week we play. I want to see who wins if we fire on all cylinders.

I'm liking my team right now, as long as there's no injuries at QB or RB I should be good to go for this season. I have tons of depth at WR and you will all learn to fear the dynamic duo of David Boston and Brian Finneran. Jerry Rice... what needs to be said? He proved last year that there's still gas left in the tank. Hopefully Shockey will help take some attention off of Toomer, but I think it's more likely he'll take receptions from him. Gonzo Jr, I'm scooping him up in as many leagues as I can.

2 things I want to happen:

Bryson To Philly - This would solve my back-up RB problem, Bryson just isn't going to get a fair shot in Buffalo. The Huntley signing makes no sense unless Buffalo moves an RB. If Bryson starts the season splitting time with Duce, he won't be splitting it for long. Duce's only big strength is his screen pass and I guarantee you Bryson does it better. If that is the case, with Inferior destroying Washington I wouldn't be suprised if Bryson was my #2 eventually.

Jay Riemersma Stays - I got my fingers crossed here, Drew LOVES his TEs and Riemersma is a very good one. If they can come to an agreement this could be a HUGE year for Jay, even if he is cut he shouldn't have any trouble finding a new home.

What can ya do - guess McCardell will have to pick up the slack. Moss will be back to inflict punishment in the playoffs. With Tice's new system, he may score more points than Faulk. :( :D

Well, the season is still young. I could start sucking any day now. Buffalo could win some more... (of course, with no QB to face Chippy this week, I don't see him getting another win anytime soon...)

Buffalo, I'll give you Doug Johnson AND Jon Kitna for David Boston!

Hehee. I was just hoping Buffalo's QB's were, in fact, on byes this week.

I could accept the nickname "chippy" for that. ;)

1.05 RB Clinton Portis

3.01 WR Hines Ward

4.09 WR Laveranues Coles

5.05 TE Todd Heap

14.04 WR Drew Bennett

15.03 QB Chad Hutchinson

18.01 QB Rodney Peete

While there are now two 1st-rounders on board, it's still a bottom-heavy team that maybe just happened to get lucky.

There's a bad ice storm here. Quite bored.

1.14 Edge

2.04 F Taylor (Sure to rise with the PT based contract and Mack's departure)

2.10 Randy Moss (This year's steal!)

3.02 D Culpepper (or maybe this is this year's steal)

3.06 A Thomas

4.02 J Smith

4.14 K Robinson

7.04 C Pennington

9.10 Josh Reed

I was rolling here until I saw that Tony Gonzalez wasn't even drafted. What kind of a focking list is that?

Talk about hella deep though. My lowest ranked starter was taken in the 4th and I have backups taken in the 3rd and 7th and 9th and some Washington RB action. And then there's this year's waiver crop of course!! :( :D

Only Woodrow "focking" Dantzler can stop this runaway locomotive!! ;)

At least, that's how I addressed him in the Christmas card I sent. :(
