Is Big Ben an upgrade from Hasselbeck and Trent Edwards?

I'm very iffy about my QB situation and a team is willing to trade me Big Ben for Jeremy Shockey. I have Carlson as my other TE. Would this be an upgrade from what I have?

Ben is definitely an upgrade, but I think the question you should be asking yourself is how you think Shockey will be.

 

Historically he's been mediocre at best, but you never know. I'd probably do it, personally. Shockey is not an elite guy and think you'll score more points with Ben and someone at TE as opposed to Edwards and Shockey.

I think BB is a good alternate to Hasselbeck if he has a tough matchup. Giving up Shockey for him is a no brainer... Carlson should out produce him on a weekly basis.

Personally I"m not a big fan of Big Ben. Sure, he'll throw 17-18 TDs, and for 3000 yards, but you get what you get. I would go with Hasselbeck. In 2007 he threw for almost 4,000 yards and 28 TDs, and of course was hurt last year. He's healthy again, and now has TJ as a target. There is a lot of upside with Hasselbeck...
