Do I dare start both...

Recommended Posts

In a deep 14 team league. Start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D.

My RBs are the weakest position I have. I handcuffed Ricky after drafting RBrown. I also have Fred Taylor, LenDale and Betts. Lendale is not getting many touches in Tenn, I am waiting for Portis to fall over with multiple injuries but he keeps starting which negates Betts, and Taylor finally is starting to come around but this week the Pats play the Ravens. So, do I dare start both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams this week against the Bills? With Pennington on IR, I figure the phins will have to run the ball as much as possible with Ronnie Brown running the Wildcat.

Thoughts?

Will help with yours. Leave a link.

Thanks

You've got me convinced. I would start both of the MIA RBs in your position, or try to pick one up off the waiver wire... Jerome Harrison/James Davis, Maurice Morris, Michael Bush? Probably not available in a 14 team league.

I think the only one I would consider over Ricky that you already have is Fred Taylor. But as you said, they got the Ravens D. I think Belichick finds a way to win this game that will involve Fred, but not as much as last week. Mauroney started the week 3 game, left with thigh injury but will probably play this week. You also have Sammy Morris and Kevin Faulk in the mix in NE.

Thanks for the response. In our 14 team league the only RB that you mentioned that is still available is Harrison. I am keeping an eye on whether Jamal will be back this week. Not sure I want to make that move if it is going to be a RBBC situation in Cleveland.

Anyone else?

I would not pick up either of the Browns' backups yet. As for this week, Ricky and Ronnie seems to be a good bet. They are going to run like crazy now that Chad is down for the count, and even though the Jets D is tough, they can be run on. Miami chews up clock and keeps the game close, so you don't have to worry about them going away from the run too early in the game.

I'd consider Fred Taylor, but I think performances from him like last weeks' will be few and far between. Too many other backs on that team, too much wierdness from the Pats. I can see why you'd do if it if you choose too, but starting both Dolphins is probably safest.

Thanks for mine.

It really does not sound like you have much choice. It comes down to Weedman or old man Fred. My concern with Williams is that opposing defenses will stack 8 men in the box and make Henne beat them. Personally, I would have hoped that the 'Phins had picked up Garcia, not Thigpen. Go ahead with Williams this week and hope for the best.

Thanks for answering mine!!!
