DamageIncVacc 6 Posted December 13, 2009 Not sure why or what this means. Report: Ced Benson to share carries with L.J. Cedric Benson - RB - CIN - Dec. 13 - 10:39 a.m. ET NFL Network's Steve Wyche reports that Cedric Benson and Larry Johnson will share carries Sunday against Minnesota. The shakeup makes sense because the Bengals need to keep Benson healthy for the stretch run and postseason, but isn't a formula for fantasy success as the Bengals take on the Vikings' No. 3 rush defense. While it's still possible that Benson will get 17-20 touches, he immediately becomes a less desirable fantasy play. Explore options with more upside if you have them. BigMilk 40 Posted December 13, 2009 This is what CBS had on it: Report: Benson, LJ to split reps: NFL Network reports that Bengals RBs Cedric Benson and Larry Johnson will share carries against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Apparently, the Bengals want to ease up on Benson's workload heading into the playoffs. Fantasy Analysis It's a smart move by the Bengals but it's awful for Fantasy owners. But in using some common sense, Benson is a huge reason why the Bengals have gotten to where they're at and isn't about to lose half of his reps to the veteran newcomer. Our hunch is that Benson will still be good for over 20 carries in the game, but with the matchup already difficult it's tough to expect him to be a no-brainer. If you own Benson, consider other elite options only before finalizing your lineup. As for Johnson, consider him a low-end No. 3 Fantasy RB since he might land 10 touches. (Updated 12/13/2009). TwentyFourSeven 23 Posted December 13, 2009 I don't see them "splitting carries". I still think Benson will have atleast 10+ more carries than Johnson today.
