Brand New Dynasty league and Salary cap league

Recommended Posts

Both are 14 team leagues. Both will cost $118 to enter into. I've run leagues for years and haven't had to many problems. With both leagues upon taking a team an owner will have to pay for the current season and 1/2 of next year's fees, then at the end of the current season they will pay the other 1/2 of next year's fees, then at the start of next year 1/2 of the following year's fees and so on. This is to ensure that we get as many people coming back as possible, since they are dynasty leagues.

Each league will have 25 player rosters, and will have a starting lineup which consists of 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1flex(WR/TE/RB), 1K, 1Def

Please email me with interest in the leagues at jms935@gmail.com

I'll post a more in depth description of both leagues in the following post

First and Ten

Roster Size: 25 players per team. Will not change unless 12 of 14 owners vote to change it.

Starting lineups: 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1flex between RB/WR/TE, 1K, 1D. This will not be changed unless 12 of 14 owners vote to change it.

Scoring: Point per reception, the rest will be pretty basic, we will discuss this aspect a little more once the league fills. Once we set the scoring rules they may not be changed unless 12 of 14 owners vote to change it.

Waivers: We will have daily blind bid waivers on Monday-Saturday. Starting Sunday mornings we will First come First serve waivers until the start of the first game. Waivers will continue like this until the start of the playoffs, at that time rosters are frozen. Playoff teams may still add/drop but their rosters will be reverted to the pre-playoff rosters at the end of the playoffs. Waivers will be turned back on after the rookie/free agent draft. Waivers in this league are being set as this and will not be changed in any future year unless at least 12 of 14 owners vote to change it.

Draft: We will have an auction draft with a 12 hour timer. At the start of the draft every team will put up two players. Then every time a player is bid on, his 12 hour clock re-sets. Each time a player is won, until the team is at their roster limit, that team must nominate a new player within 12 hours. The commissioner will allow all teams to put up an additional player at different points throughout the drat at their discretion in order to keep the draft moving. (These drafts work pretty well, I've done them in the past.

Trading: Trades go through immediately. If the trade is protested we will have a league vote. I expect no trade protests unless it is really bad. I also expect anyone that protests or votes no for the trade to be willing to make clearly better offers to the team they believe is being shortchanged.

Not including the 1st year we will have a rookie/free agent draft every May. This draft will consist of four rounds. Draft picks will be assigned from a worst-first finishing order from the previous year. Draft picks can be traded once the fees for the year are paid.

Note: This is a dynasty league, every player is kept every year.

Second and Ten---Salary cap/dynasty league

Roster Size: 25 players per team. Will not change unless 12 of 14 owners vote to change it.

Starting lineups: 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1flex between RB/WR/TE, 1K, 1D. This will not be changed unless 12 of 14 owners vote to change it.

Scoring: Point per reception, the rest will be pretty basic, we will discuss this aspect a little more once the league fills. Once we set the scoring rules they may not be changed unless 12 of 14 owners vote to change it.

Salary Cap would work like this: Each team gets a cap of say 250, thats what we also do the opening auction with.

Then every year the following happens:

For RBs/WRs--if a player is in the top 14 of his position his salary raises by 15%, if he's between 14 and 28 it rises by 10%, everyone else rises by 5%

For all other positions: 15% rise if your in the top 7, 10% in the next 7, 5% for everyone else

Waivers: From the end of the draft through the end of the playoffs: a team will create a message board post with the name of the player they want to sign and the salary they want to sign him at. Then for the next 24 hours any team can bid on the player. Exactly 24 hours after the message board posting the player will go to the team with the high bid and that team must, as soon as possible, get their team back into compliance with salary cap and roster size. (Please make sure to read the next paragraph which works in conjunction with waivers.)

IF YOU CUT A PLAYER you may not bid on the player for less than his salary prior to you cutting him for 96 hours. This is to stop people from taking advantage of the following scenario: If you have Steven Jackson at a $65 price tag and he is playing poorly or got injured or something happened that makes you think you can get him for less so you cut him. If anyone else decides to bid even $1 on him in either of the next three days then you would not be able to bid anything lower than the price you cut him at ($65). However, if you cut a guy and he is not on someone else's team after 96 hours have passed, you then may bid whatever amount you want for him.

For offseason: On May 1st the salary increases go into effect, everyone will have until May 5th to get their teams in compliance with the salary cap and get their roster size to the point that they want it. Then on May 6th we will start our "draft". No one may cut players during the draft, although trades are allowed. The draft will work the same as the original draft. (IE a player must be bumped every 12 hours or whatever and his time starts over). Then after the "draft" we go back to putting a player on the board i you want to sign him again. During the draft a team must always be in compliance with the salary cap restriction (IE $250, unless we bump it 5% every year). NOTE: An example: If at the end of May 5th a team has 24 men on their roster at a total salary of $248 they will only be able to bid on 1 player and a max of $2 during the auction unless they make a trade.

Trading: All trades will go through immediately. Because of the nature of the salary cap there may be trades that go through that look one sided. The Commissioner reserves the right to reverse any trade in which he suspects collusion or he thinks it affects the integrity of the league. If the Commissioner is involved in the trade, and someone protests, the trade will go to a league vote with the same criteria (integrity of the league/collusion). Outside of that all trades should stand. I do not expect any trade will be reversed. Trading will go from the end of the playoffs until the start of the first game on week 10.
