saintsation 0 Posted August 22, 2004 My league uses combined yards for QB, RB and WR. For example: QB 3pts for 200+ yards combo pass/run 6 pts for 300+ yards combo pass/run RB 3 pts for 60+ yards combo pass/run 6 pts for 120+ yards combo pass/run WR 3 pts for 50+ yards combo pass/run 6 pts for 100+ yards combo pass/run How should I set up the points in Compiler to best reflect this type of scoring? Thanks
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted August 23, 2004 Hi saintsation. Since in the Compiler you can change the scoring not only by stat type but also by position, I think the best thing is to enter 1 per 60 rushing and 1 per 60 receiving. The projected FF points would not change in this case from if you made a new combined yardage total and also put in 1 per 60. As for the QB scoring, how about entering 1 per 200 passing and then use the 300 yard game passing bonus stat category to pick up the extra 3 points?
cleocrazy 0 Posted August 23, 2004 how does the 300yd bonus work? if i enter 1FF pt per 30 in the PaYd field, and then 1FF per 10 in the 300+PaYd field how would that work ? would it be this? 210 = 7 pts 240 = 8 pts 270 = 9 pts 300 = 10 pts 310 = 11 pts 320 = 12 pts 330 = 13 pts 340 = 14 pts etc.
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted August 24, 2004 The 300 yard game scoring option is basically an option to add a bonus for each game a player achieves this milestone. The Per Unit would hardly ever be anything different then 1 (game) and it probably shouldn't even be in there. Each scoring option (regular yards and 300 yard game) work independently, so from your example the scoring would actually be (change the Per Unit for 300 yard game back to 1): 210 = 210/30 * 1 = 7 pts 240 = 240/30 * 1 = 8 pts 270 = 270/30 * 1 = 9 pts 300 = 300/30 * 1 + 10 = 20 pts .. 330 = 330/30 * 1 + 10 = 21 pts 360 = 360/30 * 1 + 10 = 22 pts
cleocrazy 0 Posted August 24, 2004 well our scoring goes, 1pt per 30 up to 300, then 1pt per 10 after that. is there a way to emulate this?
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted August 25, 2004 Not explicitly there isn't cleo. How about this though: Put in 1 per 30 in the regular scoring. Then give 2 bonus for hitting 300. That takes you up to 330 yards with proper scoring. Scoring at 300 yards but less than 330 will be a bit inflated but not much. I think over 330 yards that is a relatively rare day of passing for a QB, and one that shouldn't necessarily be counted on to happen very often. So, for that I wouldn't be too worried if the scoring is not exact at that point. Sorry we can't do better than that, but I think the resulting rankings will still be right in line to what they should be.
