Keiland Williams

Recommended Posts

Now that Larry Johnson has been released it seems that Keiland Williams is now the #2 behind Portis..

I grabbed him in one league as a bench stash/ prospect, but have no idea if he's a legitimate threat to Portis.

What is the potential for this guy later in the season??

Thoughts?

I have Portis and had R. Bush as my 4th back. So the timing was perfect to cut Reggie and pick up Williams as a handcuff to Clinton.

Yeah... Let's keep our heads on. The Skins managed 18 total rushing yards last week against Houston. Portis is barely a start week-to-week. Shanny does know how to get numbers up for RBs, but he doesn't have his line yet. His back up is worthless until something starts to show in the positive for the Skins.

Isn't Ryan Torain in the mix also. I remember him a few years back and he was supposedly the next) in line at Denver. I'm guessing Shanny grabbed him so he may also see some PT.

Cut and on the practice squad...the skins did just pick up Chad Simpson, though (mostly for his special teams ability).

I wondering about this kid as well. He caught 5 balls last week?! Maybe his skillset is exactly what the Skins need with the O-line they have? Other than the TDs Portis has looked very average. While he was likely drafted at RB3/4, I'm wondering if the rookie could have some more upside than that?

This kid is the real deal. In college, he was a stud until he got looked over for a quicker scat back. He is built for Sunday's and if given the opportunity, he should average closer to 5 yrds a carry rather than portis' 3. He's close to 240 and has a low center of gravity. His game is similar to Michael Turners w/ a little less speed.

That's not what happened. After his breakout at the end of his freshman year, he played second fiddle to Jacob Hester and Charles Scott, both big brusing backs. KW essentially became a change of pace back. He's got speed, but often struggled to find space between the tackles. Virtually all of his LSU highlights that I remember were runs around end.

That's not to say he wouldn't be a better choice than Portis, who frankly looks washed up.
