bimmer 7 Posted October 4, 2010 Per RW: Clinton Portis said he heard his left groin pop in the third quarter of Sunday's win over the Eagles. Portis immediately went to the trainer's table, stretched himself out and then came back in for the first drive of the fourth quarter. Predictably, he aggravated the injury again and went to the locker room. Portis is set for additional tests on Monday and his availability for Week 5 is in serious doubt. Ryan Torain would be the feature back if Portis sits.
Puddleglum 0 Posted October 4, 2010 Portis is done. He was running hard and looked pretty good but it seemed like every time he carried the ball and got hit, he had to come out to get something looked at. I just don't see him making it through the season, and even if he does, trying to bet on which games he will a) be in the game long enough to do anything and b ) which of those games he will actually get decent production is going to be a nightmare. dirtyovalballs 0 Posted October 4, 2010 Anyone see the game, was Torain's blocking, any better than last week?
gimethedamnball 2 Posted October 4, 2010 I didn't see his blocking but I did see him floor Quinton Mikel on his td run. Wow! I can see him fitting well in Shannys offense if he can stay healthy.
mambokings 0 Posted October 4, 2010 Anyone see the game, was Torain's blocking, any better than last week? Yes, a little better, but keep in mind this is a guy who really doesn't have a lot of snaps under his belt. It will improve, but his tremendous upside running the ball will ensure he's given a chance to succeed regardless. The only question is his durability; his football career suggests he will likely have a problem staying healthy. But hey, so long as he's able to play he should post good numbers. The talent is there.
