glassomilkman 0 Posted August 2, 2011 Anyone know where to find the following stat for QBs? Pick Six Thrown? I know how to add it as a custom stat in the FFC once I find the data but I'm struggling to find a site that publishes it? It's a new category added by Yahoo! this year, Offensive->Passing, Award -X points for every Pick Six Thrown. Thanks!
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted August 2, 2011 Is such a thing actually predictable? If Yahoo added it then maybe they should show the past stats for it.
glassomilkman 0 Posted August 2, 2011 The best historical data I can find so far is this, http://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/tiny.cgi?id=2i7PD, but it doesn't actually give the QB name. I'm thinking of just importing this list and cross referencing it to each team's QBs and allocating each pick 6 by percentage of teams's interceptions thrown. Basically the same thing done in this blog post, http://www.pro-football-reference.com/blog/?p=7473. Although I'm thinking this is a whole lot of work for such a trivial stat that most likely won't affect the rankings much anyway. I'm also thinking the there's more than likely some correlation between the number of interceptions thrown to the number of pick sixes thrown (more interceptions = more opportunities for pick sixes) so it might be easier to just increase the negative points value for an interception slightly. I guess I'll see how it goes. Thanks, -M
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted August 2, 2011 I think that makes sense, making the interceptions worth slightly less (higher negative number). Or, you could use the custom scoring fields and insert some kind of negative penalty for some players who are more prone to interceptions - Cutler, T-Jax, etc.
