Frozenbeernuts 2,186 Posted June 28, 2012 Davis making comeback from three torn ACLs Thomas Davis, LB, CAR 6/27/2012 News: Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis has torn his right ACL three times in the last three years, something that might convince a lot of NFL players to call it quits. But despite endless hours of grueling rehabilitation, Davis, 29, still has the desire to play and will get the chance to become the first NFL player to return from three torn ACLs to the same knee when players report to training camp July 27. Analysis: The Panthers are taking every precaution with Davis. Since undergoing his third operation last September, Davis has had a number of follow-up MRI examinations, including one earlier this month in which he said he received a clean bill of health from Dr. James Andrews. Nonetheless, the Panthers decided to hold him out of team drills during their recent three-day minicamp as a precautionary measure. Davis is a nice story, but he won't start in the Panthers' crowded linebacker corps and might only play sparingly throughout the season. Keep him off of Fantasy rosters. This is from cbssports.com Rehabing from the same injury 3 times is some serious dedication. I hope this guy is able to at least contribute since it seems he just really wants to play football. If only all NFL players were this dedicated. It would make drafting fantasy players a little easier. Then again if it were that easy where would the fun be? UNCDave 0 Posted June 28, 2012 He could still end up being cut also. Dedication is one thing, but that injury 3 times in 3 years is a big deal.
