loki993 0 Posted September 4, 2014 I was drafting 10th overall in a 10 team league so I knew I wasn't getting any of the top running backs so I changed my strategy to go heavy on elite receivers or ones with good upside and I think I did ok with that. Also this is a PPR league. However that strategy left me with basically scraps for running backs as I really didn't trust any of the guys that were available to me in the middle rounds, so I feel very weak there. I would target a guy and he would inevitably be gone by the time my pick came around. Some of the guys have potential though I suppose I just have to wait to see if any of them hit. Gore will be solid for a bit but I feel he has a decent injury potential or even could just be more and more limited as the season goes on. Carlos Hyde would be an obvious choice but someone has him so that would require a trade. I was thinking maybe to try and throw DeAngelo Williams at the team with Hyde but Im not sure if thats too expensive a trade for who is basically a handcuff for at least a while. The other side of that coin is that if Gore goes down Hydes value will instantly shoot up. I suppose what I really need to hope for is for Woodhead and Gerhard to have breakout years or for Pierce to do so well in the first 2 games that he legitimately challenges Rice for the starting job once he comes back. So what do you think should I try to make a move to bolster my RB situation or try and be patient and rely on my receivers to wait it out to see if anyone pans out? QB Matt Ryan, ATL RB Bernard Pierce, BAL , RB Danny Woodhead, SD, RB DeAngelo Williams, CAR, RB Frank Gore, SF, RB Lance Dunbar, DAL, RB Toby Gerhart, JAC WR Demaryius Thomas, DEN, WR Dez Bryant, DAL, WR Golden Tate, DET, WR Jeremy Maclin, PHI, WR Randall Cobb, GB, WR Rueben Randle, NYG TE Julius Thomas, DEN K Blair Walsh, MIN League is QB, 2RB, 2 WR, Flex(RB,WR or TE), TE and D
milehighmagic 18 Posted September 4, 2014 I would try and flip one of the WRs for a RB. Maybe package a RB and WR for the best possible RB you can find.
loki993 0 Posted September 4, 2014 How about say Randall Cobb and DeAngelo William for Andre Ellington and Carlos Hyde?
Kelvarr 13 Posted September 4, 2014 Thanks for mine. I am generally not good at these where the trade option is unlimited number of players. You aren't sitting terrible for your strategy. One thing I don't see is your starting format...is it 2 RB, 2WR, 1 RB/WR? or 2/3/1? One thing you can entertain is possibly taking one of your top-2 WR and try to turn him into a top-tier RB...although that will be hard. You would have to target the owners of the QB's for those WR though....the basket hookup will be more tempting to them. I'm not as high on Dez Bryant as other people, but I dislike the Cowboys in general, so he would be the one I package.
loki993 0 Posted September 4, 2014 Oh yeah the League is QB, 2RB, 2 WR, Flex(RB,WR or TE), TE and D. Im not sure I feel comfortable trying to trade out one of my top receivers for a RB, plus I dont think Dez would be enough to get what I would want unless the guy was really hurting. Id rather try and trade a bench guy for a second or third tier guy with upside.
loki993 0 Posted September 4, 2014 How about say Randall Cobb and DeAngelo William for Andre Ellington and Carlos Hyde? Ok so maybe this is a bit expensive for Ellington now that I look at it but it is a PPR league. The Person also has Lacy but Im not sure that can pry him out of their hands.
