bigtuna 0 Posted October 27, 2004 Corey Dillon and my #4 for Ruben Droughns I am going for the win this year and i like Rubes. especially facing off against the Chiefs and the titans in week 15/16 CD has a tougher playoff schedule at Miami and at NYJets. Big Risk for me, but if it works out i will rule at the top of the league for a few more years.
Dragan187 7 Posted October 27, 2004 Ballsy, Ballsy Ballsy move by the Tunameister. You gave up a solid/ safe starter to make a push for the future. Love the move for both parties.
GiantsRule 0 Posted October 27, 2004 In the immortal words of Darrell Hammond playing the role of Sean Connery: Oh, I'll play your game, you rouge!!! I ain't through dealing just yet! There's no reg. season prizes in this league so I'm not stopping until I at least make it into the championship game! (pretty lofty considering my mediocre ass hasn't even made the playoffs yet and has an "impressive 14-12 record" coming into this year!) Regarding the actual trade: Great move for the now. With LT2 & Ahman, RB depth will NOT be an issue (although there are still all three bye weeks for you looming large!). Reuben will be more productive than Dillon. However, I see Corey with at least 2-3 more productive years in New England (or elsewhere). I'm not convinced that Reuben won't go the way of Olandis Gary & Mike Anderson after this season, especially with Tatum Bell waiting in the wings. A great deal for the future, with Pimp Hand getting the upper-hand on future value and Tuna creating a little more distance between himself and the competition this year! Having "only" Favre, Ahman, TO and LT doesn't exactly suck though!
CA_7 0 Posted October 27, 2004 and Tuna creating a little more distance between himself and the competition this year! Too bad there is still distance between second and first in the East Division
bigtuna 0 Posted October 27, 2004 yea CA your team has been a surprise. and GR, you are imo the GM of the year. What you have done is amazing in the past 9 months. It reminds me of the 9 months i had last year that put me on top....i am very afraid to play you week 16 if we get that far.
CA_7 0 Posted October 27, 2004 Lead the league with 413 Points Against. It's all about defense!
Miller_Time_21 0 Posted October 27, 2004 Personally I think this was a huge risk that could either hit paydirt and another title, or cause him his shot. I think Dillion is the safer option. I just don't trust Shanny, and is it just me or do ALL Den RB's end up hurt?? TD, Anderson, Gary, Griffin!! All have had major knee injuries. But, Rube is looking awesome and may be the train Tuna rides to the top. Now, for all this title talk and not to include me?? I feel left out, but that's OK, fear the Holmes, fear the Holmes!!! It reminds me of the 9 months i had last year that put me on top....i am very afraid to play you week 16 if we get that far. You make it increasingly harder not to like and admire you! You're supposed to be an ass. You're supposed to talk trash. It's your job to tell us how we all suck and don't have a prayer! What kind of fantasy football owner are you? In all seriousness, I appreciate the kind words. I've done what I could to field a competitive team this year and tried to limit the mistakes. So far, the only major blunder I made was underestimating Donald Driver and thinking that a marginal fluky wideout like Corey Bradford would produce against a weak team. That error resulted in my only loss so far. I've been trying to make deals that work for both sides, but I'm not trying to force anything. I simply want to build the best team I could in a 16-teamer without totally weighing my team down with dead weight, older players, and limited picks in the next draft. You know that scene where he plays the crackhead and begs Nino Brown for more and more turkey, and Nino finally had enough and just hands him the whole turkey? Then Rock turns around and asks the crowd, "OK, who wants to buy a turkey?" That's Tuna!
