Okay here is the deal. 12 team league std scoring w/ppr. We start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR/TE, 1K, 1 D/ST. We keep two players each year and have to give up their corresponding draft pick. I currently have LT2(Rd1), E.James(Rd1), M.Harrison(Rd2), C.Johnson(Rd3) are my only possible keeper candidates.

 

I have been offered Caddy Williams(Rd4) for E.James(Rd1) straight up.

 

I am seriously considering this because then I could keep LT2/Caddy and only give up my 1st and 4th round picks. Since E.James is no longer with Indy his stats may not be much better than Caddy's or for sure not enough to justify a 1st rd pick vs. a 4th round pick. This would leave me my 2nd and 3rd round pick to go secure 1 Stud WR and a very strong #2WR. We draw for draft order and if I get one in the top 6 I am going to try to trade down to as close to 12 as possible as to have an early 2nd Rd pick and ensure I get a stud #1 WR.

 

Does this make sense or should I do something different? If you think I should do something different let me know.

You would get Caddy( and give up your fourth round pick) for Edge (and he gives up his 1st round pick this year)? That sounds like an easy call to me, especially since you tecnically would not be able to keep Edge and LT2 this year, because you only have one 1st round pick...

 

Caddy in the 4th round is a steal

 

vs.

 

Edge in the 1st round is normal

 

You would get better value for your fourth round pick if it were Caddy as opposed to Edge with your first rounder.

I'd get Caddy and get the better pick.

Take Caddy. He's the center of the offense in Tampa and Gruden wants to give the kid 1,000 carries before he's old enough to buy alcohol lol. Plus, Edge is behind a pathetic line and it should also be taken into account that he's no longer with Manning who called the plays at the line of scrimmage allowing Edge to go up against what Peyton thought was pass defenses. Plus, in a keeper league, why not have the rookie of the year at the most important position in Fantasy Football AND pick up a 1st round pick. Pull the trigger man, quick!
