I have the third overall pick in this season's keeper draft (our first for this league). I can retain the rights of two players off of the roster below and lost the round in which they were drafted.

 

QB - Aaron Brooks (7), Mark Brunell (16)

RB - Corey Dillon (1), Brian Westbrook (2), Warrick Dunn (5)

WR - Derrick Mason (6), Antonio Bryant (14), Terry Glenn (16)

TE - Randy McMichael (9)

D/ST - Chicago Bears (16)

 

I'm thinking of retaining Brain Westbrook (who would cost me a 2nd round pick), Warrick Dunn (5th rounder) or the Bears D/ST (16th round), but I can only keep 2 of them. Other players I've considered are Aaron Brooks (7th Round), Randy McMichael (9), and Terry Glenn (16).

 

The other teams in my league are probably going to keep (in order that they draft):

10. Shaun Alexander (1), Chad Johnson (2) or Anquan Boldin (5)

11. Willis McGahee (1), Julius Jones (1), Steve Smith (4) or Reuben Droughns (9)

12. Edgerrin James (1), Willie Parker (16)

Nobody worth keeping here.

I'd keep Westbrook and Dunn and pray they stay healthy.

 

WR - Derrick Mason (6), Antonio Bryant (14), Terry Glenn (16)

Solid, but no real keepers in this group.

 

Given the list of players on other rosters that will be kept, it will be very hard for you to improve your team.. hope you hit on a RB (Mike Bush or one of other rookies) and get some quality WRs that can step right in and play if you want to compete this year.

I'm hoping that one of my predictions of the other teams keepers misses and a player like Edge is dropped so I can snatch him up with the 3rd pick.

 

How early should a RB like Reggie Bush, Joseph Addai, or Laurence Maroney be taken? I'm also really high on Leinert right now. When can I expect to see these guys start coming off the board?

I would keep Dunn (5) and then take a gamble with Glenn (16). He looked good this week w/o TO and who knows how long they will be w/o TO.

 

Westbrook (2) is an option also.

Glenn is a pretty big bargin at 16, I'd keep him and 1 RB especially if you think you have a shot at a better RB in the first.

Anybody else? I think I'm going to go with Dunn (5) and the Bears D/ST (16) or Glenn (16). I've gotta announce my keepers tonight, and really don't know what to do.

Just looked up last years scoring totals.

 

The Bears D/ST totalled 192 points, Terry Glenn scored 178 and Brian Westbrook put up 169.

Based on value, I would definitely keep T. Glenn and give up a 16th round and W. Dunn and give up a 5th round.
